new bride to be 81

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

Im sarah and new to the forum. Me and my fiance have been engaged for 2 years now and have decided to get married in 2012 in St Lucia.#

I realised only the other day that I need to get on and start sorting things out, so began researching on the internet to no avail!!!!

I havnt got a clue on where to start!!!

We have one nearly 2 year old and a 6 month old so the resort needs to be family friendly.

We have 3 family members going and any friends that want to come can sort themselves out!!!

We want to be married on the beach and have some couple time together after the ceremony.

We dont want anything huge or extravogent, just want to be married on the beach, in a beautiful place with our children and family there.

Any ideas and advice would be greatly received as you are dealing with a brand new, fresh out of the box, bride to be!!!smile124.gif x x

Welcome to the forum!! I am getting married in Punta Cana, that has an Adult only resort that is connected to a family freindly resort.

My FI and I are staying in the aduly only resort as are my parents. The rest of our guest with children are staying in the one next door. They names are nh-Royal Beach (adults only) and nh-Real Arena (family oriented).

My TA's found the resort for me so as far as advice on how to start looking for that yourself, I wouldn't know what to tell you.

But as for advice on starting wedding planning in general I will say that the best way is to look through various post on this forum and sign up for email list on weddingchannel.com, the knot.com, getmarried.com, brides.com and perfectweddingguide.com. Once you sign up on the email list, the ideas basically come to you. You can also get planning timelines on these sites that are very basic, and can be altered to fit your needs. They are extremely helpful and a good starting place. You'll see things here and there that will peek your interest and then you'll go researching them on the net and that will open up tons of doors for ideas.

But the best way, by far, is to scroll through the threads on the forum. There is so much out there in terms of wedding planning and most people come up with the best ideas by stumbing onto them through the forum (or blogs or email subscriptions).

Then you just have to organized the basics and the details will come soon after............

Happy planning!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
