DREAMS TULUM brides please post here!

When I was at DT the disco (which is underneath the main lobby) was dead. I haven't heard great things about it. It's actually pretty cheesy. I'm sorry to sound so negative but that was one thing I wasn't too crazy about at DT. Of course, if the resort is at full capacity then maybe there will actually be people at the disco...hopefully enought for it to be fun and silly.

I don't know of any nearby offsite places. I know you aren't crazy about going to PDC but that is the only place I would suggest. It would be worth it! Lots of action, people, tons of places to choose from. Wish I had better news. sad.gif

There is always the town of Tulum which is right down the street. I know there are hotels, bars and restaurants there, but I have no idea if it would be any good. Has anyone been there? If nobody has been there, I will be there in April and can go check it out for you one night :) Your wedding is right after mine, I'm getting married Nov 8.

I would do it at the bar near the main plaza... lots of people go there when there is no space in therestaurants. They just chill there waiting for their bipper to ring (Dreams tulum restaurants will give you a bipper to tell you your table is ready ! ) That bar is near the sand and has lots of benches to sit on. You should do it there !

NEWSLETTER

Okay girls, I created a newsletter to give my guests. You may notice it's half in french and half english.

I've saved a copy with all the personal info deleted, so if anyone wants a copy I can send you that one and you can just add your own personal info, but it will be 75% done for you! PM me for a copy - please don't post here asking for one (I can't attach it here because it's a publisher document)

I also used the dreams tulum map (I emailed them to get a copy) and made it more legible because even the pdf copy they sent me was really blurry. I added large numbers and I re-typed all the locations at the bottom. I'm attaching this one, it's a word document.

EDIT APRIL 11 2008: I just posted instructions on how to download the file from a file sharing website, I thought I'd add the instructions here so that somebody who finds this post doesn't have to go forward another 15 pages on this thread to get the instructions

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING SUNBRIDE'S NEWSLETTER

Everyone can access the newsletter here:

4shared - free file sharing and storage - share folder - My 4shared

So now no need for anyone to PM me asking for it (I've gotten a gazillion requests). Just go to that link and click on the document, then click download, then a new page will open and you have to wait a few seconds (it says "loading file info, please wait"), and then click download file (middle of the page, under where it says "no virus detected"). If you have problems, please PM me rather than filling up our beautiful Dreams tulum thread with Qs&As about downloading the file.

It's a microsoft word file.

I also added some other dreams tulum wedding documents that most people already have but I figured why not add them just in case

I just popped them in the mail now along with invitations and luggage tags. I know, it's insanely late to be sending invitations (my wedding is 21 days away!) but I wasn't about to send the invites before we knew when and where it was going to be, and since we booked (Jan 7th of this year!) I've been crazy busy with all the other wedding stuff. I really wanted them done and sent (both the invites and the newsletter) a few weeks ago, but it had to wait until now.

Ideally, I think you should share them with your guests about 1-3 months before leaving. there is lots of usefull info, and they may want to do some shopping (i.e for the "things to pack" page) or research (for the "things to do" page) based on the info you provide.

Oh yeah, I put the newsletter in a report cover, a cheapy thing with no binding, to help protect it!

hi there...i've read through this whole thread and unless i missed a post, there are two questions that i didn't find answers for that hopefully someone can address since getting the WCs to respond doesn't sound promising!

- if you have a weddign party larger than 25 (mine will be about 100) do you have the CHOICE of the convention center for free or closing the beachfront restuarants for $750 or do you have to have the reception in the convention center?

- does dreams tulum allow outside wedding planners? i would definitely want to bring one with me and think its probably better to have him/her source flowers, music, and cake for our ceremony and reception to make sure its all done the way we want it.

also, i'm sure i read this somewhere, but to be sure, Dreams Tulum allows outside photographers for no fee, right?

thanks, ladies! i might be joining your ranks soon!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
