I feel like the negative reviews for the Melia are getting more and more frequent online. My wedding is 4 months out and this is causing major stress!! Not so much in regards to the time my fiance and I will have, but more so about my family who are spending all this money to come to my wedding. If they have a bad time, I will never hear the end of it!!!

 

Just wanted to vent. Anyone else out there worried about the reviews?

No I'm not worried at all it will be what you make of it and just remember that you cant make every one happy. I don't know if you have been to Punta cana before but I have and it was amazing. I to the first time going was concerned about the reviews but I think that there are just some people out there that are never happy.

I was there in May for the first time. We were looking for a place to get married. The resort is really big. We stayed in Royal Service and it was nice. I wasn't too pleased with the rooms compared to all other AI's I have stayed at. Just keep a head's up for the people that bug you for timeshare sales. All in all the resort grew on us when we found our way around. The beach is beautiful!! Although I did decide not to book my wedding there, I'm going to the Grand Palladium. Feel free to contact me with any questions, I did see a lot of weddings there at the wedding pavillion.

Lol... I just realized you are from Pittsburgh too!!!

I went there for a wedding several years ago and thought the resort was great! There was lots of food selection, beautiful beach, and yes it is huge! I don't remember what the rooms were like but I wouldn't really have cared one way or another - I didn't plan on spending much time in the room!

I'm in the same boat. We haven't booked but as soon as I saw pics of the beach gazebo I fell in love. After reading the reviews on trip advisor they are very mixed (lots of bad) it's hard to tell some times if people are just being picky or if it is genuine.

I'm kind of hoping to find other resorts with a beach gazebo in Punca Cana so I can compare. So if any one knows of any please let me know.

But this place is easily in my top 5 as of right now.

I agree with you, FutureMrsG521. The more reviews I read, the more irritated I get. Seems like people just like to complain. Also seems like a lot of bad reviews are based off (in my opinion) common sense type things, such as people who drink the water, then blame the resort.

 

Really excited to get there and experience it for myself finally. Less than 2 months to go now!

Did you end up booking the beach gazebo? My wedding is booked at the Melia March 30th 2012. I am still on the fence in regards to a beach location or the beach gazebo. Please let me know how everything went it would really help me make this decision. Thanks and I hope your special day goes well.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
