Summer Glow Dilemma for a Chocolate Bride

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

I have a dilemma- I tan too easily!!! I can be exposed to the sun for 5 minutes and I will have the dreaded t-shirt tan line!

And, there's no telling how dark I will get this summer. I know I will lose some of my "summer glow" by the time the wedding comes around.

I am not sure how many shades darker I should go with the make-up. I hardly wear make-up in the first place! And when I've gone for free make-over trials, they have either made me too dark or too light!

What can I do?!

I would wait until month before the wedding and choose your colors then you will know what shades will be closer to your natural skin tone...shade darker is ok..especially for photos the flashes etc make it turn out perfect.. ...and if the makeup is too light just use bronzing powder to illuminate the face more! This is what I do for my clients if my foundations do not match their skin tone right on...

I'd suggest waiting until close to the date and shopping for a few different shades of makeup then. You may have to end up blending a few different shades to get spot on. My skin tone is between shades so every shoot I do the MUAs always have to do a little mixing project to get the ride shade.

I'd also suggest hiding from the sun as much as you can just before the big day just so you stay close to the shades of makeup you purchased.

Good luck!!

Sidebar: i'm just like you, i darken up super fast even with sunscreen on and short amounts of time int he sun, i love it! tho if I wore makeup on a regular basis i would probably hate it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
