Small Wedding in Riviera Maya... any recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this site! Just recently got engaged and are planning a wedding for the summer 2011.

We want a small place where we could host most of our families and friends. We've been looking at a few places but I would love your input on the places you have visited! We are planning a scouting trip sometime in August and would like to have a few places picked by then. So far we have looked at Ceiba del Mar, Le Reve (it looks amazing), Ana and Jose (in Tulum a little bit far. Have any of you been to these hotels? Or any others that you would recommend?

Let the fun begin!!!!

Hi Lisa welcome and let the planning begin wink.gif

I looked at Le Reve and Ana and Jose. Both amazing places. I think what it really boils down to is a few factors of what you are looking for.

Do you want more night life like in Playa Del Carmen if you are looking for something more quite Tulum is very beautiful and the perfect location.

Than of course there is budget for your guests. Le Reve I found was on the pricier side but the location is so amazing that if your guests could do it I would def keep it on my list.

I hope you have an awesome site visit - if you can do it, it is so worth it you will have an amazing time.

I LOVE this hotel: Tulum Hotels- Best Tulum Luxury Hotel- Mezzanine- Mexico Boutique Beach Resort

It's a small and intimate hotel where you could host all of your guests. And the beach... UNBELIEVABLE! Seriously, best beach in Tulum. AMAZING!!

TLSeege - Is Mezannine doing weddings now? If so, that's great. They do have a great venue and I would recommend it as well.

I haven't been to Ceiba del Mar, but I've been to Le Reve and Ana y Jose's. I think Jes has hit the nail on the head regarding the pros and cons. Le Reve is close to Playa so if you are looking for lots of city life it's preferable. Ana y Jose's is in Tulum, which just naturally has a better beach. It is also one of the few places in Tulum that has air conditioning, which will be a must in the summer.

I also like Be in Tulum and Sahara Cafe in Soliman Bay. Both are brand new, and have amazing decor (and a/c).

Hey girls!

Thanks for your help!!! We have been emailing back and forth with the wedding coordinator at Le Reve! She has been sooo helpful! We are in love with the place!!! We are still going to visit a few of the sites in August but so far we think it's going to be Le Reve! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I happened to like the Omni at Puerto Aventuras. They seemed to offer a high level of service and I really liked that the hotel only has 30 rooms (which are great quality). Guests can choose to do all inclusive or room only. The main downfall is that it's not next to playa but for me, I liked that it was more secluded. Also, their beach front has eroded but still soft sand. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
