We did have some hiccups...I will get into that in my review. Someone broke into our safe the night of the wedding and stole $1500 cash. Needless to say, we were in Mexico and we will never see that $$ again, and everyone (Security) thought we were lying, and I spent the entire next day on the phone trying to get $$. That part COMPLETELY sucked...but James and I made the best of it.

OMG thats insane Lisa! I totally feel for you. $1.5k is a big chunk of change. I would have freaked out so badly. Wow, seriously my jaw is still open, I'm shocked that someone could have done that.

Karma will get em!

My jaw was on the floor too!!! I really still can't believe it!! But Sandra was so nice about it. We only had to pay $200 for the DJ instead of the food cost for the extra 12 people = $45 pp, and the iPod set up. That would have been around $550. I think the worse part was that I cried myself to sleep instead of having sex like I was suppose to be doing on my wedding night!

Oh hunni that's a horrible way to spend your wedding night. That's awful that someone would do that. That was very nice of the DJ to accept that, thank goodness somethign was going your way.

Was anyone elses safe broken into? That's so odd that yours would be targeted. Do you think it was a setup because you were getting married and they knew you would have a ton of cash on you for paying stuff?

Annie - DO NOT leave anything valuable in your safe!!!!! I would recommend putting anything valuable in some dirty clothes in your bag or in different places around the room that they would not look. The only neg about that is that they are "not responsible" for anything not in your safe. WELL they're not responsible for anything in the safe either. We spoke with some people that said they put all of their cash in a tooth brush holder right on the bathroom counter and they would never think to look in it....it's an option when you're trying to hide $$. Either that, or just don't take cash at all.

We really think we were targeted because it was our wedding night. We talked to another couple and some items were stolen out of their room the night of the wedding also.

That's F**Cked up! Know what? I read how that happenned to one couple at the resort I'm staying at. I read it on trip adviser I think. Anyway it really got me thinking. And now this. That's complete BS. I think they SHOULD be responsible for stuff in your safe. Gosh what if your passports or somehting were stolen.....

Not that I am one to say but I think it was the hotel....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
