I'm a second time bride and older than some of you on here so these big formal wedding dresses are not working for me. I need help finding simple, elegant, sexy dresses. I don't want any lace or bling or crinolin. Just looking for simple sheaths. Any help on what designers fit this bill would be very appreciated!!

 

(PS..posted something similar in another forum but was afraid it would get lost so I apologize for the double post)

A number of designers have "destination" lines - it sounds like that might be what you are looking for.

If you found something that you liked that did have a bit of a train though, you could always have the train taken off, assuming that it wouldn't change the look of the dress much. Just a thought!

You could look at Nicole Miller dresses or some J.Crew both lines have some nice simple sheath style dresses with a minimum train if any at all. Also Maggie Sottero's destination line is also great. Another suggestion is to look at a white bridesmaid's dress. My sister-in-law bought an ivory bridesmaid dress for her simple summer wedding two years ago and no one knew it was a bridesmaids dress. David's bridal has some great selection!! I always say to check out some used dress websites aswell b/c you can find great dress's on there for a FRACTION of the cost, and they aren't all used. Some are sample dresses, some are the 'other' dress for 2 dress brides. I found my dream dress used and never looked back!! Good luck with your search, I hope you find the dress of your dreams :)

I would suggest BCBG, J. Crew and Nordstrom Weddings, all have simple sheath dresses, some with a little bit of embelishing and some very simple and plain. Its worth taking a look and most are wearable again. I've added the links to each for ease. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
