Looking for questions, comments to share with Sandals/Beaches weddings!

I thank you all for posting your input regarding the Sandals resorts. This is one of the hotels my fiance were considering to visit and possibly have our wedding in Jamaica. Their rules and restrictions are not sitting too well with me, especially the times they offer for a wedding - the latest being 2pm?? That's so ridiculous! I will keep researching other hotel resorts.

Maybe 2pm is the latest time available on your date?  I'm getting married at 3pm and like Caroline says, the "free" ceremonies go until 4pm.  A sunset ceremony will cost extra.

I agree with you on the rules and restrictions though.  I'm finding out about added charges for stuff that I hadn't even imagined.  And I'm having a VERY hard time getting simple answers from the WC and even my TA is getting a hassle from her now too.  Honestly if I could, I would probably look into changing my resort.  But our time frame is very limited and we're getting married around a holiday so it is what it is.  I'm going to make the best of it.

  • 1 year later...

I am getting married at Sandals Negril on April 14, 2013. I would be very interested in what all you ladies would recommend and not recommend having. I to am finding it very hard...I thought it was all sorted when I booked but after receiving the price list and the cost of all the extra little bits and bobs....I was especially disappointed that the arch was extra...its in on the pictures even the one of the free wedding...I guess I really can't assume anything.

We were also thinking about only using the champ toast and snacks for the wedding party and our parents then having the private dinner for all wedding guest. My Mom pointed out that many of the guest will most likely just head for the bar to wait for us to finish photos and for dinner...Any thoughts or suggestions? It could help with our budget to only have to pay $75 for the bridal party and our parents while, paying $50 for the private dinner for out other 40 guests....That way we are also avoiding having to pay for 5 extra tables at $500 a pop ....instead we will only have to pay for 1.

-I'm a bit confused. I guess.

Also did anyone end up having a photographer that was not from sandals ...I'm a bit worried about quality and may want to have my cousin do the photo's as she will already be coming and is a photographer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
