    Good morning,

I am a June 2010 Bride. We are getting married at EL Cid in Riviera Maya. This will be my first trip out of the US too! We are bringing my four and seven year old sons along with us. My mom and step Dad and my soon to be father-in-law and his brother are coming too! So a pretty small guest list hahaha. We have all the clothes/wedding attire etc... But what extras do you suggest we pack and bring along? I have no idea as i've never been to mexico! Also, how do we get our wedding dresses on the plane. We are flying american airlines. Thanks for any help. I'm so excited!

I would say sunblock and bug spray would be the two most important things to bring, especially when traveling with little ones. The mosquitos in mexico can be very annoying. And bring enough sunblock with you or it would cost you a pretty penny to buy it at the hotel if you run out.

p.s. bring a pain-reliever for the adults (in case of a hangover, lol!). Cheers!

      Good luck and HAVE FUN!

Pack plenty of sunblock with a high SPF (50 or greater). My FI and I went through a tube every 3 days. Mosquito repellant is necessary too. We bought the kind used by our photographer and it worked better than the brands in the States.

Light colored clothing (linen or linen-similar)
        Tank tops (no long sleeves)
Pants (if you hate worrying about mosquitos at night, but no jeans as its too hot)
        Comfortable tennis shoes
        Flip flops

Oh, and about the wedding dress, my dress was double wrapped (outside bag got dirty), and stored in the overhead bin. American Airlines may let you hang it on the plane if you ask.

I'm a June 2011 bride. Exactly how bad are the mosquitos? I'm trying to decide if my reception should be outdoors (my preference) on a terrace (thnk, large patio) near the beach or move it indoors to keep my guests from being the main course.
