El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Lindsey - the organza should be just fine on the gazebo. They'll secure it to the poles. And I love your menu, and the logo!!!

Gale - LOVE those shoes. so sassy and sparkly!!!

I am probably against it b/c I have always hated how I sound and look on a video that I don't want to bother with it but my FI does.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Betsy

We're not having one, as we're already paying to fly down the photographers. Also, our photographers made a good point. The videography is so much more work intensive since they have to worry about lighting, sound, etc. So they told us unless you want to pay a lot of money to be sure you get a good one, a lot of times they aren't worth the price. I think if you have one of your guests who can tape it, that would be good enough. Just my two cents :)

Thanks Allie! Finally, the fiance is starting to pull his weight ;)

I emailed our WC, and she was actually able to send me pictures of different gazebo setups with all different fabric. I don't love it as much as some of the thicker fabrics, but not enough to exchange it and spend more $$. I'm sure they will make it look great. Thanks for the reassurance :)

We splurged on a videographer and I am glad we did!

We used Cancun Wedding Video (an approved vendor) and from what I have watched of our hour long DVD, I love it! I say "from what I have watched" because unfortunately my father in law passed away shortly after the wedding, so my husband is still too emotional to watch and I want to watch it in its entirety for the first time with him. I am hoping that in time, my husband can have more positive than negative thoughts about the wedding, which I know will be hard and take time since his dad was in such poor health at our wedding.

That being said, I am sure that once my husband feels like he can watch the video, he will be glad that his dad was able to walk his mom down the isle and that we have it on video.

Here is a link to a highlight video done by the same videographer we used (this is not our wedding, but its a wedding at el dorado seaside). As you can tell, the video produced is much more than just a point and shoot type of thing. They really did a great job of documenting our entire day and have some great voice overs of my husband talking about how we met and what he loves about me. love.gif

It is such a personal decision. I know we have tons of video from multiple vacations, family events, etc. and I never watch them. So I figured I would also never watch the video of our wedding. But we did make sure to budget for a good photographer, because I love looking at photos. So it really depends on you and your FI. Or perhaps a lot of family can't make it and you want to be able to show them the wedding....then maybe having a video is useful.

If a videographer is not in the budget, perhaps you could have a friend with a camcorder record the wedding. It won't be professional, but at least you would have something.

would you be able to forward to me or post some of those pictures?  I'm really curious about this too.  wondering what the fabrics will look like before I go to the effort of spending the money.

Do you want to PM me your email address? It'd be easiest just to forward what my WC sent then save/upload them here. We bought tulle, so it's not going to be quite as vibrant as some of the other fabrics may have been. But again, we paid just $40 to buy it all, so I'm willing to live with it. I just wanted the gazebo to have a little something for decoration, but didn't want to go crazy spending since the ceremony will only be like 30 min.

hola ladies........I agree a videographer is a personal choice, however a real professional video is also a treasure to cherish a lifetime. We've worked with, and can highly recommend Roberto of Rhino Visuals who does an increible job of making everyone look amazing and tells a very moving story through his work!

You can reach him here at http://www.rhinovisuals.com/!  His work can be also be found on Facebook at:https://www.facebook.com/#!/Rhinovisuals

Best of luck with your research + process, and wishing you have the perfect wedding you're planning! Enjoy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
