We also like the idea of using the phrase, "Becky and John are Almost Married!"
Those are both simply fantastic ideas! Well done! :) I hope you won't mind if we use something similar.

so i'm confused...are you having a wedding reception too or is this in place of it?

why not just call it a celebration. doesn't matter if it's pre or post wedding then if it's the only celebration with friends/family besides the actually ceremony day.

Msredbird--Go right ahead! I'm so happy that you like the wording and I'm glad it makes sense to someone else. This has been challenging for some reason but I'm just happy that people want to celebrate with us!! When is your party?

midnight--I explained our story at the top of this thread. We're doing a full wedding reception in Mexico. This is the party that my FI's parents are having in their hometown so they can party with their large and extended group of friends who aren't invited to Mexico. The fact that not everyone is invited to Mex is what makes it tricky...b/c it's before the wedding.

I totally hear you. The fact that it's before the wedding has made it challenging for us, too. The party will be in September at my parents' house, before the wedding in the Dominican in November.

I'm just happy that we get to celebrate with all of our extended family and friends as well! cheesy.gif

We are also having a pre-wedding celebration. We planned to call it a "Bon Voyage" Party. There will be a reception at the resort immediately following the ceremony. But it's a nice idea to have the reception prior to going for extended family and the people in general that cannot make it to the actual wedding. We thought people might feel more apart of the celebration if we had the reception before we left. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
