NEGRIL Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner??

Recommended Posts

For those of you not doing AI, or doing AI but having an off-site welcome/rehearsal dinner, where are having it or what places are you considering in Negril?

We'll be getting married on the cliffs so I'm thinking we should take our guests down to 7-mile beach area. We'll likely have 40 people. Any thoughts? suggestions? I've scoured the forums and the closest I've gotten in terms of suggestions are Norma's (Seasplash) and Xtabi? with Rick's Cafe being a definition No-No (too touristy).

What about something fun fun, like a Booze Cruise or Catamaran Tour. Know anything about these types of activities in Negril?

I'm trying to do the welcome dinner at the beach and the rehearsal dinner on the cliffs, and then our wedding will also be on the cliffs. I can tell you right now that Rockhouse won't let you have a rehearsal dinenr there even if you don't ask to close down the restaurant. My MIL has really pushed them for us and the most they would give us is if we had it no later than 5pm! Instead they are really pushing their new, but much more casual, restaurant PushCart. I can also tell you from a previous trip that Norma's restaurant was really yummy!

I am getting married at MDC soon and also have 40 guests. We are doing the rehearsal dinner at Ivan's. They have been great about communicating by email. It's really casual, outdoors with great views and has GREAT food reviews!! Check them out on trip advisor.

Finally someone who has been to the Pushcart! Was it really casual? Does it have a cool feel like Rockhouse? How's the view? Anything else you can share about it for a rehearsal dinner spot? Thanks!

Yes, it is a casual place with the same Rockhouse feel. The view is awesome, overlooking the sea, the food is soooo good, and they had a live band when we were there. I'm going to try to attach a couple of pics (hope they show up)...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
