Need advice on booking

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies

Well i am not sure what to do here.

We finally decided on going to ROR in Jamaica and I am very excited.

Here is the problem, my step-mother is a travel agent and she has given me a quote that is pretty good (and we kind of have to use her), but my FI insisted we check out others pricing, and I have gotten quotes from 3 other agents who are all 100$ cheaper than her quote.

So now I still want to go through her but how do i tell her that I can find the trip at a better price? I know that she will match it but I don't want to insult her by saying I was checking out other agents.

I am just not sure what to do. Any advice would be great.

thanks

Just be honest with her. I don't see the problem if you're sure she will price match, what's the big deal? I'm sure she's used to people shopping around for a better price and won't be insulted. If she is than that's her problem.

I agree I would just be totally up front and honest with her as well. And you never know maybe she could price match! Also think that her doing everyones travel could get stressful on her and does she want to play TA during the wedding if some guests are unhappy with their rooms and such. Where if you go with someone else she can just be a guest and completely enjoy herself!

Hmmm....

Would you like her to do the travel for you?

If yes, then tell her that you got a better quote - tell her "a friend" just happened to be talking to another travel agent. (that actually happened to me and my rate dropped in half)

if you'd rather her not be your travel agent and just enjoy herself as a guest, then tell her - but if she is the official travel agent of the family, i'm sure she will do right by you and get you the best price - they can change in a day so it might have been $100 more the day she checked from the day the others checked.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
