Ellabaja - 8 inches! Wow! I'm too tall for my dress so I have to wear little heels :(! BOO!!!

I had a SUPER productive shopping day! I found acrylic containers to use as vases!! They are pasta containers so nice and tall. We just took the lids off of them and glued ribbon on the top, they look amazing! Also got some great deals at Jysk! Table runners for $1 each! and 50 cent candles... Also found approprite mirrors at dollarama for $2 each. Now I'm just looking at ordering those water beads online so we don't have to bring heavy plastic ones with us... Hmmm... anyone have any experience with them and how they work?

3 months exactly until we leave for Jamaica!! It's been between -30 and -40 all week and it won't stop snowing... I need the beach!!!!

PurpleUnicorn - Welcome!  You'll find this to be a great thread!

Brandy - Thank you for answering....looks like I should take another trip to CTS....  It's been a couple of weeks since I've been there....

Tris - Yes, I'm only 5'1 and the flip flops I'm wearing are under 2" (per Brandy).  Looks like you and I are on the opposite sides of the height meter!!  Ooh, it's been really cold up there.  The last two days have been cold here...tomorrow our high is 0!!    Can you take a picture of your vases?  I'd love to see them!

Today was relatively productive for me.... updated our website and (finally) ordered the OOT bags from cheaptotes.com.

Yep Im just as tall as you Erin!!! We had to order my dress 3" shorter and we will still have to cut some off the bottom!

I'd love to see how your vases turned out as well!!!

I had a semi productive weekend.... got all my paperwork together finally for our marriage license and I will be sending that out tomorrow, helped my mom with putting together my bridal shower invites, put together a couple of hangover kits and beach kits, probably going to order FI suit tomorrow.

Hello Ladies,

I had a very productive weekend.  My vista print orders arrived and I think they look great.  I got my veil, and jewelry.  I also got some tank tops at old navy on clearance for $1.48 AMMMAAAZZZINNNGGG!!!!!  I'm going to get the GM tie, and FI shirt and belt tomorrow.  I'm feeling good, with what has been done so far.  I already have a full weekend planned for next weekend with wedding stuff, but a lot of items are checked off of my list so I really can't complain.

Tris, I TOTALLY forgot about pasta containers.  I've been racking my brain for what to put the sand in before the sand ceremony and the pasta containers will have a screw top.  I was at the 99 cents only store yesterday and they had these really cute message in a bottle valentines and I was tempted to buy them for the sand ceremony...but I wasn't sure they'd be big enough to hold all the sand we need to fill our picture frame.  Good call.

Welcome Purple Unicorn.

Kathy, I lucked out with a really cute flower off of eBay, just search hair flower and whatever color you're interested in and you'll come up with a bunch of options.

I wanted to share one of the very few good ones from our engagement shoot.  I used it for the back of our thank you notes in my LAST (I mean it, LAST) Vistaprint order.  Notice how small we are? We are tiny in most of the pics, this one it kind of made sense, but the others, not so much.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Francine - You guys do look really small, but I LOVE the picture and it's perfect for the thank you cards!!

Looking back, I feel like I had a pretty successful weekend too!  I'm really happy with the changes that are going to be made to my dress!  I was finally able to order my OOT Bags yesterday!  All but a couple of things have been ordered, and what is left, I'll order tonight after going to the gym!!  FI has a plan for him and the GM for their clothing... and I think I have figured out what I'm going to do with my father for his clothing as well.  Coming up next I have two big projects .....  Picking out the music for everything and then putting the pieces of the OOT Bag together to make sure I'm good with everything that I have.  I'm still contemplating doing koozies, but I do not know...  Laura - Weren't you going to do koozies?  Did you ever order them?

Wow, what a busy weekend! Friday, went over to Buffalo and managed to finally settle on BM dresses from David's Bridal. Saturday was my amazing bridal shower which was everything I could ever want. And yesterday, we ordered my wedding band. Sadly, I had to give up my e-ring to ensure a perfect nested fit. And now I am back in Western Canada, apart from FI :(

Lisa - I got the boxes from a store in Niagara, Prima Wrap. They have a website, but you might be able to find something similar at a restaurant supply store. Your shoes are so cute. I might have to look at the Aldo site again.

Erin - You're dress is gorgeous. I had to have a corset too, just in case of fluctuations in weight after a week at AI.

Teira - Pretty little princess daughter, and the dress is so sweet.

Tris - I almost forgot, I ordered the water beads for our centerpieces from dealextreme.com. They were super cheap so check them out. I didn't get them yet, but I've used other ones and you simply add water to hydrate them and they last a long time. I think they call it Magic Soil on dealextreme.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
