No Health Insurance?

Recommended Posts

Oh LeAnne, bless your heart! Well, congratulations and good luck on your upcoming marriage...regardless of the circumstances it should be a happy time for you. Don't let this drama over shadow it.

That being said........if you have the fight in you, DON'T give up yet! Appeal the decision to the next higher level. File a grievance. Tell them that you were given false information (i.e. you were told your docs were covered) when you enrolled. ....bring out the words, "Insurance Commissioner"

Too many people give up too easily because there are so many hoops to go through and there is so much paperwork to fill out--but that's how they weed out so many people that aren't willing to fight for what they deserve.

If it were me, I'd probably just get married. ;-) But it makes me angry when I hear about the way you've been treated. Good luck, sweetie. Let me know if I can help!

They denied me. I got almost 15 minutes of sleep in this morning before I had to schlep off to work. While I was getting ready, I spontaneously burst into tears about three times. Talk about being unhealthy... I think FI almost had me comitted.

The good news is that I think I'm getting married! Yay love!
Sapphire, I am so sorry that you're going through all of this... Eventhough I am covered with a decent insurance .. I had to stop seeing specialists because the $30 copay was killing my bank account. I started to get real upset because my Chiropractor (I highly DO NOT reccommend who is located in Southington) diagnosed me wrong - I had a gut feeling and felt pressured to quickly do something about it before I ran out of money. I got to an Osteopth, after more x-rays and an MRI (fingers crossed I don't get a big bill for someone's precert screw up) he said I have a healthy structure vs what the Chiro said that I have a back of a 100 yr old woman!! Mixing money with health issues is never fun and takes a psychological toll - I really understand...I also used to be a medical biller and had to fight tooth and nail with these insurance companies and employer to do write offs or accept patient hardship waivers.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is try and hang in there and on a brighter note: congrats on getting married soon!

Hey LeAnne,

Sorry to hear about this awful mess. What a disaster. I hope it all gets sorted out ok when you get married -- congrats on your upcoming marriage!

I used to joke with my FI about being with him for his benefits... he put me on there fairly early as his common law wife.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
