Anyone used US based WC Sharon Ashmeade?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone who has booked their wedding been assigned a WC named Sharon Ashmeade? If so, did you run into any problem with your relationship with her?

At first she was pretty prompt with replies and getting back to us. Now, we're waiting close to 2 weeks to get answers to a question. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to plan with her!

Any advice/details would be appreciated!

I'm sure this probably isn't what you want to hear, but my experience with the WC (a different one) was exactly what you describe... Until about 5 weeks before the wedding (I'm 3 weeks away now). Once it's close it comes on their radar and then they're calling YOU for information! My guess is that there are so many weddings that the WC's are assigned to that they spend the time responding to the brides with closer wedding dates. Annoying.

So here's a mini-rant, because I'm a little frustrated, as well:

My Sandals WC is someone named Melody (although she goes by Nina) and I sent her a lengthy email outlining what add-ons I am looking for, indicating that I am EXTREMELY busy and the best way to correspond with me (while I am working 2 jobs to pay for this whole thing!!!) is via email.....

To which SHE responds, that I will need to call her with my credit card number when I am ready to "finalize" (ie. pay for) these details -- I WANT INFORMATION before I go ahead with these things, but I am TOO damn busy working to have a long phone call with her!!! Ggggrrrrr -- what ISN'T she understanding here?!?!

Anyway, my #1 tip is, if you have a Travel Agent, COPY (or blind-copy if you feel more comfortable that way) him or her on ANY and ALL correspondence with your Sandals WC!!!

My TA contacted me to see what the status was to the last unanswered email BEFORE Nina did (althought my TA is crazy-busy, too!) and told me she would get involved if another week went by with no word from her.

GET YOUR TA involved -- it'll get things done, you'll appreciate their dilligence and attention to your destination wedding planning, and the next time you go on a trip, don't forget what they've done for you! wink.gif Be sure to give them your future business!

Gah! I'm so sorry that other people are dealing with the same things I am. I understand that they're busy with other weddings, but this IS their job, and my wedding is no less important than any other brides'. Ya know?

My biggest gripe right now, is that whenever I ask for information, I get the same information as what is found on the site. I told my WC up front that I had read the Sandals website inside and out, and knew what was listed. If I'm asking a question, it's something that needs clarified to me, or I need further information. Obviously the paragraph from the website isn't going to answer it, or I wouldn't have had the question to begin with!

I'm beginning to think that the WC's work on commission for the 'extras' that their brides pay for, because mine is SO pushy for me to buy the most expensive additions.

Sandals gave me some bad information to begin with, and I thought my WC would go to bat for me. Instead, her suggestion was to pay more for something that should be free to begin with! AURGH!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
