Hi Sugarg from another UK bride, I am getting married at the Riu Negril Clubhotel 5th March 2010 and leave 1st March.

Booked the Royal Wedding package with Thomsons back in March 2009 and time really does flow by so quick, ordered my dress August and had fitting's in January. H2b only got his suit last weekend, so a little stressed but now everything sorted for us and just counting down the days before we leave.

Where are you getting married?

hi sugarg

i am getting amrried in april 2010

i booked as soon as we could with first choice for Riu Montego Bay (april 09)

there have been a few issues along the way but that was mainly due to the original Travel Agent messing up the booking but thankfully we had a friend who worked at First Choice who fixed everything for us

the only other mishap is the change to wedding package the hotel have changed their packages but we have been assured that the package we have details on is what we will get (fingers crossed)

i ordered my dress in september (after trying on about 100 lol) and go for my first fitting on saturday

we did a lot of the invitations etc ourselves and will be uploading the templates just as soon as my account upgrades

we used vista print for a few things which saved us a lot of money

we still have a few things to do but they are only little things which we dont have to panic about

Hi Gloria!

I'm getting married at Hilton Rose Hall in July, booked in January but have been researching since Jan 2009, everything from Negil to Ochi. We have guests coming from the UK and family in Jamaica so needed a resort that didnt charge for guests coming into the hotel and that was used by tour operators, unfortunately this ruled out all the reasonably priced hotels in Negril which would have been my preference. We have previously stayed at Starfish in Falmouth but Hilton Rose Hall was the the best price wise for us. We have booked through Virgin where the wedding is free with a room upgrade and we are paying the hotel for all the extras we want. I found my dress in February last year, just need to find my sandals and sort the men out.

Hi im from the UK due to get married at Rose Hall Hilton booked through Thomas Cook as I started with the Riu Tropical Bay Negril changed my mind booked second wedding with Thomas Cook Signature who use Virgin planes and not Thomas Cook planes ( not sure why ) I have seen on trip advisor that some Thomas cook planes start at Gatwick or Heathrow approx 10 AM and then stop in Birmingham to pick up more passengers so check with your Travel Agent.

What is very strange is becuase I booked through Thomas Cook ( in a high street shop not the phone ) Thomas Cooks signature refuse to speak to me directly I must phone the actual shop Thomas Cook and they will phone Thomas Cook Signature they said due to data protection, so won't be doing that again as I can't get quick answers sometimes and the travel agent is not always availible straight away.

I have heard good things about First Choice I did fly with them to Barbados and evrything was very good the captain even came out to say hello to the economy passengers

hi mrs cato, we booked through future travel and virgin. To be honest we havent corresponded that much at all with virgin and used future travel as we were trawling through lots of hotels and wanted to get the best deal. We liaise via email with Yolande/Charlene - wedding coordinator at Rose Hall we have let them know all our requirements and have a meeting with them the day after we arrive.

I have also got the meal price lists let me know if you need them and I will send them to you!!!

we have the menu list thanks - we are customising as we are having a bbq theme on the beach, haven't finalised exact details yet but will be this week. we are not going to use the hotel or our tour operator for any excursions, we have been to Jamaica before and have family there - it is way cheaper to find yourself a private licensced taxi and negotiate with him where you want to visit. You get a much better experience than hanging around for a coach load of people and you get to see a little of the real jamaica too.

Hi,

We are booked to get married April 2011 at ROR Jamaica.

Not done a lot a planning yet as we only booked a week ago. Just waiting to get our wedding confirmation and along with it the information about booking extras and our reception. Any other british ROR brides?

Supposed to be getting Married in Jan 2011 at the Iberostar rose hall. Currently living in the UK by my family is all in Canada and my FI's is all in Hong kong. So we thought we'd make everyone travel somewhere we wanted to visit.

Ordered my invitations from 'cards by samantha' which I found through the wedding ideas magazine, and I'm happy with them for the most part.

As our family is so scattered all over the place we're letting everyone kind of book their own vacations and I'm just keeping them organized when it comes to time frames etc... :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
