Yeah thanks for your post...I'm doing the following too. I'm so excited and can't wait for pics and more review...hurry hurry :-)

- having the ceremony at 4pm

-steel drum band playing before the ceremony, and while i was walking down the isle, and after, during the cocktail hour.. it was beautiful, and tropical, and the guests thought it was fun

- the private poolside reception (the food, the location, the privacy.. it was just so special)

Hey! I am posting the review now - to answer a few of your questions though -

4pm was a good time to have the ceremony because the beach was slightly quieter, it wasn't as meltingly hot, and there was less of a break between the ceremony and reception (the reception was a big deal to me.. maybe if you aren't planning a formal reception then it might not matter as much which time you choose.. and earlier in the day it IS sunnier.. the pics might be brighter etc).

For booking - we booked with a travel agent.. she was based out of thunder bay (which isn't even where I live, but i had just heard such great things about her).. I definitely recommend a travel agent.. and especially mine.. she booked a group booking that made it cheaper for EVERYONE, she could ALWAYS match any cheap price i found online, she was GREAT to our guests, and booked most people leaving from toronto, but a few from BC, and even thunder bay and sault ste marie.. totally awesome. Her name was Pauline Woodruff and she works for marlin travel in thunder bay. Her booking us as a group also had some great perks for us.. along with free trips (which we spread amongst our guests to make the trip $100 cheaper for everyone), we also got a $500 future travel voucher and a $200 online gift card.. which I think is rad.

Ok.. im posting the review now.. PLEASE tell me if anything is missing.. I remember pouring over the reviews and being frustrated wanting to know EVERYTHING.. i am happy to answer anything!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
