Blue Tulum Hotel - Have you been married here?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! My fiance and I love the look of the Blue Tulum hotel, but have not found any reviews on the place. Has anyone had there wedding here, or does anyone plan to have their wedding here?? We are in discussions with WC and will be planning a site visit, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the hotel! Thanks :)

Hello,

We are having our wedding at Blue Tulum this April, 2010 and highly recommend it. It is a small, intimate size with personalized attention-much more than I was receiving as I looked at other resorts on the Riveria Maya. Angelina is their wedding coordinator and has worked with us to make the weekend perfect for us and our friend and family.

Thank you! Indigo82 - are you doing a site visit? We are heading down in April for ours and I am curious to know if you had the chance to personally try out the food, meet with Angelina (she seems great!), stay in the rooms, etc. If so, I would love to hear your thoughts on how it went! Also, what made you choose this hotel over others that you were considering?

Hi Kristine,

We did a site visit to Blue Tulum and Dreams Tulum last July and right away knew Blue Tulum was the best choice for us because it is more intimate, we got personal attention from Angelina (she waited for us in the lobby until we arrived off our flight at 9pm on a Saturday night). We liked that instead of choosing from a package, we could pick out our own flowers, menu, etc. We had planned to visit two more boutique resorts closer to Cancun, but after the great service and beautiful location, we chose Blue Tulum. The only drawback is its distance from the Cancun airport, so we are arranging group shuttles for our guests. We are getting married on April 24, 2010 and Angelina will probably offer you a discounted rate to do a site visit. My website is Ingrid Jones & James Hallar if you want to see photos of our visit.

Hi! Not married there but I have photographed a couple of weddings at Blue Tulum and have stayed there, it is a fantastic wedding location! Here are a couple of images, there is also a featured wedding from this location on my website (Jen and Royce) you can see the ceremony and reception areas, the lighting on the dance floor was brought in especially for my clients which I thought was amazing!

WOW Elizabeth, those are some sexy wow shots. I love this place too... Although we didnt get married there, we would for certain go there for a vacation / give a thumbs up recommendation for the wedding there.

In addition, Angelina Cardenas, the groups and wedding coordinator has been more than helpful and exceptionally organized for all of our events there.

We have a few weddings under our belt there. I think viewing slideshows from multiple photographers and different setups is the WAY TO GO to visualize the location.

Here is a few from the del Sol world of photography...

Hans+Lara - Photos by Vincent

Nicole+Jim - Photos by Matt & Sol

Some real cool fire-show stuff from this wedding...also, the emotional exchanges between the Nicole and Jim as she walked down the isle...some of our very best expressions captured on this one!

Vanessa + Marius - Photos by Vincent

In a few weeks, we are going to stay in the hotel for several nights. I'm pretty sure we are bringing the cameras. We will be shooting sunrises, sunsets, and the entire property for a more thorough set of imagery to combine with our current folio. The idea = more photo of the place, better for brides to virtually visualize what is happening here!

happy planning!

matt

Hi Ingrid:

Congrats on your marriage! Blue Tulum is on our short list for our wedding next April or May - 2011. I would love to hear how your wedding went, see pics, etc. when you get back and settled. Again, congrats!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
