Hi my name is Jessie. I was engaged May 2009 and Fiance and I decided we would love to do a desination wedding. We have not started planning but are thinking our destination will be Mexico in the late winter of 2011 (Feb-Mar). I have been googling like crazy and it is a little overwhelming so if anyone has advice on specific locations they enjoyed in Mexico, it would certainly be welcome!

Hello, Jessie and welcome to the forums.

Congrats on your engagement - you and I are in the same boat! Our engagement was in May 2009 also and we are getting married in January 2011. We had originally looked at Mexico and there are some awesome places there!

Towards the end we had it narrowed down to RIU Palace Riviera Maya and Dreams Tulum. We ended up having to switch destinations, though. sad.gif

However, there are so many reviews for Mexico here I'm sure you'll be able to get a feel for different places.

Good luck in planning!

welcome jessieand congrats!!! i got engaged in august and we have decided to get married feb 2011. we have decided on mexico because we met there 5 years ago in the mayan riviera. we were looking at the RUI's and the iberostars but for our family and friends we found it was a little to expensive for our guests. we are looking into the grand palladuims and we are actually going to check it out on the 14th. we have a lot of friends that have been there and have nothing but good things to say about them. there is also a really good forum on here about that resort.

well i wish you luck on deciding and the planning!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
