What to do with my engagement pics?

Recommended Posts

My engagement pics are done. some of them are cute, but I hate that we are so unnatural and posed. and my hair was so funky due to the humidity. Here is one of the photos below; there are 100 more! I am using this in our passport invite. what should I do with them other than this? Some of them are really bad, but some are cute.

I love how you had the entire skyline behind you - where did you go to get that background? I think you should make a photo book thats what I plan on doing with mine, that way I have all the pictures some where for others to see. Also I love the pics of you guys on the beach. I think that while a lot of the pictures were posed, you have some great non-posed ones. I love the ones of you guys laughing and the one where your FI is carrying you on his back! I can't wait to get mine we did ours in Chicago too.

I took at a look at your pictures Nicole. While they are "posed"... I don't think they are as bad as you think. I may suggest that the problem is when you see them all together and with little variety or change in background... they do appear a little repetitive. I think I counted 19 shots of the same angle and same background in a row. While the poses were fine... I think you only needed to see 2 or 3 of them. But definitely a change in camera angle/lens/background to add some variety and spice! A close up, sun kiss, engagement rings close up, some depth of feild, off camera flash, under/over exposed etc.

That is just one photographers opinion. Don't burn your images... find the ones you like and frame them. Use them on invites/Xmas cards/screen saver etc.

I used my engagement pictures in a variety of ways. I used it on my wedding website, in my save the dates, in a photo book, in frames around my house, and for a signature frame at the wedding (picture in the middle, guests sign the matte around it). Now that i'm a photographer, i actually suggest that my clients make a photo book out of their engagement photos for the guests to sign at the wedding. They are super cute and a great way to show off your pictures! :)

I agree with the other girls - you can make a photobook that doubles as a guest book! It is great way to save all your pics and have a really cute guest book! I just made one and I love it :), I just put in cute quotes and left blank areas throughout it! It is an easy/creative guest book!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
