Dreams or Gran Caribe Real Cancun

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Glad I found this website. I'm going to book our wedding for Cancun for the end of October beginning of November next year.

Jason and I have been looking online for the last week, and I am going back and forth between Dreams Cancun and Gran Caribe Real Cancun. We have been to Cancun in the past and loved it there. There are only about 20 people attending the wedding but 5 children so we want it to be somewhere fun, with lots of evening entertainment, shows etc however be are super luxury place also.... if this is possible.

Looking forward to reading more in the forums!

Thanks and have a great evening,

Tori

As a photographer, I like better Dreams Cancun, it has more spots for pictures all in walking distance.

You can have your ceremony in a quiet small beach or in the Gazzebo.

You can see some pictures of a wedding here:

You are on time to look for the perfect place and with the help of all the brides in the forum you will have more elements to make your desition.

Congratulations

Congratulations Tori and welcome to the forums! I have to concur, that Dreams Cancun is very picturesque! You will be able to get some some fantastic images there and the ceremony site is out on the point.

Best of luck with all your plans.

Hi there welcome!!! Definately Dreams Cancun. My FI and our families went to Mexico a few months ago to decide between 4 places. Two of these were Dreams and Gran Caribe Real. Both resorts are beautiful in their own way.

GCR: Is a Vegas-style resort. The entrance is grand, the pools are huge, and there are sooo many rooms. It is also less expensive and still close to shops. The wedding coordinator was really nice, but I felt like she was searching for answers to my questions. Also, I didn't like any of the locations she showed us for the ceremony. Like many places in Cancun, they are undergoing beach recovery and there were several bulldozers and other big equipment there. As for the "rain plan", you have to decide the morning of the wedding whether you want to be outside or not; and the ballroom is EXACTLY like any other you've seen (and it smelled funny). If we're getting married in Cancun, I want to see the gorgeous views!!

DREAMS: when we first got to the resort I was dissapointed b/c from the outside it doesn't seem as grand. HOWEVER once you step inside it is amazing!!! Everything is kept beautifully and the view towards the pool and ocean from the lobby is awesome. Our WC Cecilia was great. She was answering questions before I even asked them!! When she showed us the different beaches we could choose, I started picturing our wedding. Once we got to the gazebo, we were all blown away!!! The view is indescribable....I knew that was the place we were going to get married! We continued our tour and I fell more in love with the resort. Everyone we encountered was so nice and it is located right on the tip so there are many shops around and you can see the rest of the coastline from the beach.

anyway sorry to go on and on, but just thought it might help :)

good luck!

    • In the 2017 bridal fashion week, many styles of wedding dresses were gradually popular. From serious bling to regal capes and fun and flirty short numbers, ByCouturier've got all the hottest wedding dress trends you need to know. Allover Sparkle
Over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair. Perfect for evening nuptials under the stars, this trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.  Bold Ball Gowns
If you're looking to make a dramatic entrance, a classic ball gown is for you—and we saw plenty of them. Take a cue from long, lace sleeves, or get glam with an embellished strapless bodice. No matter the details, this voluminous style is sure to turn heads.  Captivating Capes
Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative: It still adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. Plus, this trend is an easy way to pull off a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Short, Sassy Dresses
Whether you show off your legs (and a killer pair of heels) in an embellished mini or opt for a more conservative midi-length number, a wedding dress with a flirty hemline is a chic way to mix it up. Not willing to give up your dream ball gown? Change into a shorter frock to spice up your reception or after-party.  Plunging Necklines
The deep V-neckline is a must-try for two reasons: It flatters your upper body (even if you're busty!) and elongates your frame. A plunging V with scalloped lace is ultra-feminine, while a sleek V plays up the inherently sexy vibe of a curve-skimming silhouette. Just make sure you have fashion tape handy the day of to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
      Skinny Straps
We love this trend for two reasons: A gown with barely there straps has all of the sex appeal of a strapless neckline, plus added support. We call that a bridal fashion win.
    • Hello all,
I am here to get some suggestions on the best places to go on a honeymoon. I am getting married by the end of next month.
I was thinking of Bali or Maldives. But just wanted to know other beautiful and romantic places. The wedding banquet hall is a gift from our parents. The hall they have booked for us is one of the best banquet halls in Vaughan I’ve ever seen... Other arrangements like the videographer, photographer, wedding dress, reception dress are all finalized. The next week we have the pre-wedding shoot. Also, I'll start sending the invitations the same week. So, it is going to be hectic and I don't have time to rest or look for some nice places. So, if anyone here could suggest some places would be a great help.
      Let me know your suggestions.
      Thanks in advance!
