Getting Married @ The Royal, Cancun

Ivan - Thank you so much! That picture is SO helpful in locating where everything is!!!

stevensFiance - That's so funny because after receiving your information and looking at more pictures, we're now trying to switch over to the Gran Caribe gazebo so that we can have the cocktail hour just outside :)

Our wedding is at the Gran. We are having the wedding on the beach but have decided on a non-beach location for the reception. Julie sent me pics of "the rooftop terrace", the "Banquete Terraza Albatros" and the "Villas Terrace".

Does anyone know if the rooftop terrace and & Albatros terrace are the same thing or are they separate locations? Thank you!!

One more question for those of you getting married at the Royal ...

Our WC suggests we have the cake & toasts immediately following the ceremony on the beach, then doing pictures then reception.

This seems a little odd. The only positive I see would be we don't have to eat up time during our 3 hour reception for these activities.

If we do this, then I think we would need to change our wedding time to 3:30 vs 4 because I am concerned we would run out of time for pictures (November wedding). And do we want to eat cake right before pictures??

Could anyone offer advice/suggestions on this?! I appreciate your help!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
