I believe this is the hotel entrance, but my pics were a little out of order:

Some of the hallways were open air, and this is a pic of the scenery:

This was the view from our window. At night we left the window open and you could hear the waves, it was so nice!:

Wow, that's a killer deal!

beachbride08,

How was the beach on the resort?

The beach area was nice, but we spent more time in the pool. It was an infinity pool that have like bench around the edge so you sit in the water. There was a hot tub near the pool that was pretty large, but in more of a shaded area. They also carded all of us at the pool-even my 57 yo old aunt that was with us. They made me go back to the room to get my ID so make sure you bring yours with!

Do you know if they asked for your ID because there's a bar in the pool?

We have a timeshare in Princeville, right down the street from the Princeville Resot at the Bali Hai. Princeville is amazingly beautiful, and the Princeville Resort is the crown jewel. I can't imagine anything there is cheap, or what I would consider "reasonably priced". That price of $600/night sounds about right from what I've seen. Not sure what they charge for weddings though.

We just got back from HI and we spent a week of our Honeymoon on Kauai - we had decided against staying at Princeville but went over there to check it out and have lunch, mostly b/c we heard it was so great and wanted to see if we made the right decision!

my new hubby and i were SO GLAD we did not pay the $600 or whatever a night to stay there - it is so run down looking - i totally understand why they are closing in a few months and renovating the entire place. the pool is nice as far as the view and layout but looks very old and kind of dirty with some rusty metal drains. and it is very crowded at the pool and beach (see below) which is so different from the rest of the the North Shore and Hanalei Bay - it is all about privacy, quiet and a chill vibe - we really felt like the Princeville kind of ruined that.

and the beach SUCKS - omg - you can drive down the road 5 min and park your car to spectacular beaches everywhere. their beach looks man made and 'manicured' - also, their psycho about their beach chairs - they have them all lined up military style and really crowded.

anyway, just wanted to share this info (just our opinions) in case it helps anyone!

I completely agree with Alyssa. We stayed at The Cliffs resort but our friends stayed at the Princeville Resort for their honeymoon. They got an amazing deal of $250/night, and I thought that was probably reasonable for their accommodations. Really, the only thing nice about their room was the view. It looked old to me, and in definite need of an update.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
