I just wanted to drop a note on an online insurance broker company that I have been using not for my wedding, but for another trip that I'm taking.

Having had my wedding in the midst of the swine flu fever, I was afraid the swine flu panic would happen again at the time of my next trip. So, I considered purchasing travel insurance and started to look at who could insure me for this.

After reading a few conditions (and they also have this great tool where you can see who has a pandemic exclusion and who has not), I wrote to the customer care service and got the best detailed answer I ever received from an online customer service ! Here it goes :

"To be covered for the H1N1 virus in case a country would prevent travelers from entering or if you do not feel comfortable traveling anymore, you would need Cancel for Any Reason.

There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 15 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Have to give at least 2 days notice to cancel prior to your schedule departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, most of the policies will reimburse you 75% of your trip costs, unless otherwise noted. The companies that offer Cancel For Any Reason are: Travel Guard plan names: Cruise, Tour & Travel, TravelGuard, ProtectAssist 50%; Global Alert plans; Travel Insured plans; Travel Safe plan names: Premier 90% and Vacation Insurance; Travelex Travel Max plan. The Cancel For Any Reason will show under the "additional notes" section. Please make sure to click on the underlined phrase to view the requirements to qualify for this option. If you decide to buy this Rider, make sure to click on the box near the Cancel For Any Reason Rider and hit the “buy†button at the bottom of the quote. Please note that these policies are State-specific. Please use the following link to obtain a quote:InsureMyTrip.com | Quote & Buy | All Quote

Most of the companies will cover if you become sick with the H1N1 virus except for Access America, Global Alert, Travel Safe and HTH as they have an exclusion for a pandemic/epidemic."

So for all of you ladies that can still be covered for your wedding... or another trip... I thought I would let you know ! I got the TripProtectorLite from Travel Insured, who was one of the cheapest, yet very inclusive. They are even covering you if you get pregnant... most companies will only insure you if you have to stay home due to pregnancy, and these cover for normal pregnancy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
