Destin area suggestions please

OK - I am trying to plan a wedding & reception in the Destin area. We want to get married on the beach. Other than that, I am open to suggestions! We thought about getting a beach house and have the reception there. I expect about 30 people or so to attend. Any suggestions on caterers that are not too overpriced? Another option would be a reception at a restaurant but I would really like it to be a restaurant on the beach overlooking the water. Anyone know of any good ones that meet that criteria? I am in the beginning stages of planning and I am trying to keep in simple...but I can see how that can easily get off track! Thanks for your help!!!

Oh I love Destin - it is beautiful. I stayed at a beautiful hotel there - I saw a couple wedding - let me see if I can remember it

oh I remember - the Sandestin Beach Hilton - the whole Sandestin resort area is great

My parents lived in the Sandestin resort for a few winters and I went to visit them - it's gorgeous! Destin is a great choice as long as you're going in the warmer months! I can't help with caterers or anything but I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful

Sandestin is great! We love to vacation yet! I'm not sure if you have chosen your photographer but Patsy Brown with A Thousand Words Photography is great and Devin Warner performs a beautiful ceremony.

I'm also looking to have our wedding in Destin. I still have about a year to plan, but it's very difficult to plan a destination wedding and I'm looking for suggestions just like you are. I've looked at Sandestin HIlton. It looks very nice, they offer a complete package for the ceremony (which is convenient since I hate planning myself)... But we're still looking at a few other places.

Honestly, I'm having the hardest time finding a place for reception...

My parents go there every winter for a few months. Destin is a beautiful place. I think that you will enjoy it there. My folks stay at the Hidden Dunes resort right down from the Sandestin Hilton. Just give a few ideas as to what you are looking for in general and I'm sure that we can help you out.

Hi - we decided to get married at Henderson Beach State Park. The Sandestin hotel is great, but unfortunately more than we wanted to spend. still working out the details...we are going to have the reception at the park also under one of the pavilions. I've seen pictures of it decorated for weddings and I think it's pretty...simple but nice...and we'll still have the backdrop of the ocean! I found quite a few nice places but with money being an issue the park was our best option. Also I've seen a place called Bentley's on the Bay that's really pretty. You should check it out if you haven't decided on a place yet
