Asbarret...we just miss each other. I leave on the 25th and head to Excellence!

I would probably go with the discounted reception also. You might save more money. Maybe there is a bar close by that your guests can go to while you get your pictures.

And I am freaking stressed! I feel like I have so much to do. I finally talked to my WC on the phone today for the 1st time so I feel a little better. I have all my locations reserved for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail, and reception. I'm going to make an itinerary for my guests so they know where to be when we get there.

Personally, I would take the cheaper reception. I would just try to choose a reception area or gazebo that is close to a bar where guests can go have a drink in between.  The other way to do it would be to start the reception immediately following the wedding so the bar will be open but plan for the dinner portion to start an hour in.  You will have to make sure you stick to your hour b/c you won't want to shorten your reception any longer.  Additionally a lot of the menus for the reception have items that are like hors d'oeuvres.  I would ask your WC if you could have those items on a table separate from the dinner buffet if they could be ready to go at the beginning of the reception and then have the rest ready an hour into the reception.  You are also able to add only 1 menu item from 1 of the menu to the one you choose so you could choose another appetizer like item.

If you do have guests just to go a bar in between, I would just make sure you let everyone know exactly where the reception is to take place and that dinner will be starting at an exact time.  It is easy to get stragglers who are drinking and not paying attention to the time.  Also if you give them a designated bar to go to, you could always swing by for a picture at the "cocktail" hour and round everyone up to head to dinner.  You will probably also want a drink at that time too!!

You may want to check, but I know outside vendors for flowers is not allowed.  I am using an outside florist as well, he has delivered there before, he just says it is a gift from someone from home and brings them in a big box so they can't see.  It was only $35 per bouquet instead of $120.  So you may just want to check with your florist to make sure they do not let the resort know they are dropping off your flowers.

We are using the reservation for our rehearsal dinner.  We are doing it at Arrifcies (sp?) the Brazilian steakhouse.  Since we were at 35 people we didn't have too many choices.  How many do you have? That can limited where you will have your reservation.  I recommend checking out the Restaurant Review thread on here, it gives reviews of each restaurant as well as someone posted the limits for how many people they can accommodate.

Hey girls!!!...I am using Marvin from Maya Diseno Floral...He has been wonderful...And gave me a GREAT deal...He has delivered to Moon Palace many many times...He brings the flowers right to your room the morning of the wedding...Nobody has to know...LoL...Yes, I think I have decided on the Brazilian restaurant as well...We are right around the 35 people mark as of right now so our options were limited...But they said that will set everything up out on the terrace which is great because it is more private!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
