Wow..that's high!!  Those are per person????  Yikes!

I would FOR SURE book the Master Suite..I've seen it - it's amazing.  BUT - I believe if you book the Honeymoon Suite they will upgrade you to the next level - which is the Master Suite!  I would double check with your WC but that is what I was told..

From what the coordinator is telling me, if you bring an outside DJ or photographer it will cost you $500 for the day pass.  If they have other ppl with them it will be an additional fee but not $500.  I think it's quite insane, everything just adds up soooo quickly.  If you find an outside vendor, just email the coordinator and ask her if those people are on their approve list.

Hope this help

I don't want to wait too long before choosing.

I'm totally confused! Any advice would be helpful. I'm getting married this December and it might be Dec before the coordinator replies back! lol

Oh and also, do you pay them directly or throught the resort?

Thanks!

I used this because it was cheap and the only true teal color I could find!!  I bought the 18" size.  And I waited to cut it until I got there so that I could see the exact size I needed (I was given a measurement by the WC, but had a hunch it was wrong -- I was right).  One spool of it was enough to cover the chairs for all of our guests (30 or so).  It was super lightweight and very easy to pack.

Also, for those of you who might not know, they will put the tulle/ribbons/sashes on the chairs for you as long as it is pre-cut.  They tie it in a bow and everything for free.  Also for the chairs, you can get the covered whtie chairs or white garden chairs, which I think are much more "beachy".

:)

And..does anyone how much the resort charges for the chair sashes? I realize we can get them cheap online, but I am trying to minimize suitcases. With all the OOT bags and such....I feel like I have everything except the kitchen sink!

The 2000-2500 is for two sorry I didn't specify.  That includes airfare and about 5-7 days at the resort.  I think Bookit pricing is the best I've found so far.  I have been emailing the coordinator regarding the free upgrade from a Honeymoon suite to the Master suite and this is her reply:

"

I received your mail, we are reviewing  January´s and February´s weddings, I ´ll contact you within the first week of February, while I review your information. Thank you,"

They must be extremely busy down there.  I am nervous about the whole reception and cocktail hour too.  I emailed about replacing the cocktail hour and adding more guests to towards the reception and she said that she cannot tweek anything from the package.

I will have about 60 guests, don't want to pay xtra for that cocktail hour........

WOW...$2000 - $2500 is for two???!!!  That is an AMAZING deal!!!  What are your dates?  Well...you are flying from California..so that's probably a short flight.  We are flying from Michigan.

So you did use Destination Weddings or you used Bookit?  Did you work with a Travel Agent from Bookit?  That is a GREAT deal...

We were planning on using Apple Vacations through our Travel Agent - I'll have to watch both sites to see where the deals are!!  ;)

Another Bride said their WC said the same thing about the Cocktail Hour.  I can tell you I will be raising all hell if she told me it's what I can do and then is gonna tell me that I can't.  I sent an email to her to see if she'll verify it on paper!

Also..you can make a Website on The Knot.com - I've started ours there and it is very simple!!

Yes, Definitely!  I spoke with veronica and complained.  My TA also called the manager of sales who was supposed to call the general manager.  I would complain as much as possible to get things changed.  Its total BS for them to change things at the last minute for people who have already made arrangements.  I have emailed the new DJ she said we have to use and he hasn't responded yet.

Maybe if we swamp them with emails they'll rethink??!!  It's worth a shot..right??????????

I couldn't agree more.  I sent an email - and included the manager at the resort.  I asked how/why would they take away such an asset to their Destination Weddings.

I would be SO mad if I had them booked...I for sure would want for something in return for the inconvenience!!!!!!!

That is awesome..we have to keep complaining..obviously something happened because we can't even pay for them to come in from the outside.  We just have to keep emailing so they have no choice but to settle on an agreement!!  It's terrible..I just can't believe they would take something away completely..not a good move.

It has to be fixed!!

We all know their is no way their DJ will be like Ivan!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
