Yes, our reception is on the pool deck and we are not going to get the dance floor. I think the wood decking works well as the dance floor! :)

I am going to have someone from home help make me a playlist that would keep everyone dancing and really make my guests happy and send it to him. I believe itll be worth the time so that there is no question about the music being bad.. i have to assume that people who did not like the music did not contact him and send him a list!! i hope!! Thank you for your help!
Is your reception on the deck? Mine is and im wondering if i should do the dancefloor? Im thinking i might as well...

Girl I totally went through the same thing.  I researched forever different centerpieces, and had decided on gladd suare vases with sand and candle and shells in it.  BUT I was worried about the weight of the glass, so finally I found these lanterns.  The picture is really similar but I got 5 and they are all a little different.  I'm going to put candles inside and then put them on top of a charger type plate with sand and shells scattered around the lantern.

Anyway....just sharing an idea with you to help you:)  If you back though this thread quite a few brides bring stuff with them to construct.

Good luck!

Hey ladies...I'm at 46 days and counting down!  Whew-time is flying!!

All of the sudden I am having anxiety that I don't have enough "happening" at the reception.

Okay a few things:

I am having 29 people attend.  We are having the ceremony on the beach and the reception on the pool deck.  We have up the cocktail hour in between for the credit for the extra guests so everyone is going to gather at the bar for drinks in between.

We have decided to have DJ.  We are NOT having a bouquet toss since I'm having a brooch bouquet.  We have an instant camera to set up for our photo guest book.  So....that's where I stand and I'm feeling like there needs to be more special things at the reception.  I keep reading about games...but all seem really cheesy.

My fi even said it feels like we want to do something to make it extra special-more than all of the other days but we can't come up with what exactly we feel like is missing.

HELP!  LOL.  I'm starting to kinda freak out...any suggestions....etc.  All of the sudden I feel like "I don't know what to do!!!"

Thanks!

Could use some help ladies!!  The big day is less than a month away now, and I still have to find shoes.

Here is my dress: http://www.sinceritybridal.com/sin/3658   My concerns... because it's not your typical full bottom bridal gown I'm worried that when I walk my feet will stick out because of the flowy material..does that make sense?  I'm also worried about tripping on the dress because of the chiffon material..you almost have to kick the dress out when you walk, which is tough to do with the light material.   I originally wanted to wear heels so I would not have to alter the dress, so I ended up buying these shoes: http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/catalog/product.jsp?fromPage=shoppingBag&category=dsw12cat520016&brand=&prodId=dsw12prod2980013&no_redirect=1&skuId=58000000002020760200000M008.5&productRef=SEARCH&qty=1&item=ci8212019203   Finally tried the dress on with the shoes, and I'm not digging it.  I think a more "strappy shoe" fits the dress.  Also, the dress is still too long, even with heels.  I just had to find a last minute tailor to alter the length of my dress, so now I have the option of wearing heels or flats.  Another concern I had was my heels going through the pool deck...are the cracks large enough for your heel to get stuck??!   I'm not into the barefoot jewelry and was hoping for something to compliment the dress (white or silver)...unfortunately it can't have a lot of bling on it because the rhinestones will snag the chiffon.  I'm beyond frustrated!  BangHead.gif   Any suggestions/advice?

MrsKatiePerry I know what you mean and I too would like some ideas to make the night more fun. lol I do love games though no matter how cheesey, but ya, I think not everyone is into them as much as I am.

I have seen on Four Weddings the questionnaire where the bride and groom sit back to back and someone asks them questions like

"who said I love you first?" or "who wears the pants in the relationship?" and so on

Hello!

I didnt want to spend alot of money on centrepieces either.

My centrepieces will be a mirror plate with LED pillar candles and silk rose buds in the centre of the plate. Very simple and cheap!

I'm planning on taking the LED candles back home with me :)

How about adding some photo props by your guest book and camera, with a little a message. for example 'Have Fun Take Pictures' ?

So your guests can take fun pictures of themselves .... Thats what im doing :)

Hope this helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
