Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

I love the way the Seaside Grill looks at night and lit up!! For your decorations from the Resort would that be the lanterns around the outside, (how many did need) and what did you purchase for the lighting? I love how it looks!! Thanks for sharing your pictures!
Well I brought lots of LED tea lights and LED pillar candles from home because I didn't want to pay for extra lighting.. But I got to the reception on the wedding day and they put up loads of lanterns and set up the light up dance floor for free! I think the dance floor is normally $580 and the lanterns are $10 each. I'm not 100% sure how many lanterns you will need. I'm guessing 24 :)

Ok posted a whole long thing before and it never posted! Lol hi names Jaimee - I'm new here! Actually heading to DRC on Monday for a site visit and have a meeting with Claudia on Wed to check out stuff and put down our deposit. She's already put us down for an August 2, 2014 wedding. I have some questions that I'm hoping you very knowledgeable ladies can help me out with. I LOVE reading all the posts and seeing all the pictures! - What does the ceremony/reception on the beach look like? - Is the pool deck the optimum spot for reception? How many people do you need? - How many people can you fit into the seaside grill for reception? - Do they allow use of the Chinese wish lanterns? (The ones that float into the sky - we found biodegradable ones but I know other resorts are iffy on it because of fire hazard) - What's the differences between the silver and gold menu? - Do they give good group rates for rooms if I'm bringing a lot of people or better through a travel agent? - How often do you communicate with your coordinator? Is it often or rarely until the date is close? - Anyone ship stuff down there? Experience? SIL had a bad experience shipping stuff to Aruba for her wedding. Thanks so much!! I'm sure ill have 8 million more questions!!

I just read your review. How unfortunate. He was on my top contender list...
I actually used Juan as my photographer and I was very happy with our photos. My wedding was on June 7th and we just received them. Granted there are a few duds in the mix that I could have done without, but with over 400 photos (I don't remember the exact number), there are plenty more that I absolutely love. I will see if I can post a view here.

You might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  We Specialize in Destination weddings at Dreams Resorts and I am a past Dreams Bride ;).  You can contact us HERE!

We can usually beat the rates offered directly through the resort as well as offer better service.

Hi ladies,  Would you recommend getting my hair and make-up done at the spa? Thank you,  Emmy
I can only speak for the hair, but I think it depends on your hair and what you want. I have super thick hair and even though she made my curls super tight to allow for falling and sprayed the crap out of them, my hair ended up looking bad. One of my bridesmaids ended up re-curling my hair. On the other hand my moms hair (she did an updo) and it looked good.

Ok reading through lots of older posts answered a lot of my questions - I also see how they have severe communication/switching wedding planners issues! Some more questions: - Anyone know if they can accommodate a guest with a peanut allergy? Our daughter is highly allergic so we'd like everything to be peanut free. - Anyone know if they normally give a reduced rate for site visits? I was thinking of using this as a possible bargaining chip next week for a room upgrade lol but if they don't normally do it then that won't work lol

Any opinions about the Desires night club? We were wanting to have the DJ for four hours instead of 3.  We might have to change it back to 3 to stick to our budget. Did anybody go there after your reception? Or would you really recommend keeping the DJ for the extra hour

Currently here!! Got here earlier today - meeting with Claudia on Wednesday - if anyone has any questions they want answered or pictures of places let me know and I'll happily share! Anyone on here the brides for this week? There are apparently several weddings and we plan on checking one or two out! If the bride from SI is on here - my fiancé knows your fiancé and I hear you're getting here tomorrow! :)
