Thanks :)...we are honeymooning at Valentin Imperial Maya, it's about 25 minutes from the Cancun airport. That is so romantic that you are honeymooning where he proposed!!! I love it. That will be a fantastic week. I have always wanted to go to a Secrets resort, they are amazing!

As for plans...the ceremony is at 4pm on the beach, cocktail hour after that at a bar or lobby terrace while we finish up pictures, then reception on the beach. I am e-mailing off site photographers right now and hopefully deciding soon. Have my dress, just bought a necklace....and that's about it. My finace and I are heading to Vancouver (bigger city with more stores/choices) to get his ring, suit, my shoes, etc... Hopefully will have lots done before Christmas! I am in a hurry because I am finishing up my last bit of school in the new year.

Sounds like you are about as far along as I am. We are ring shopping after the new year.... along with invites, shoes, table decor and such. My wedding is a 5pm one... we hope to have the cocktail hour at the lobby terrace and reception at one of the pools. I am using a resort photographer...we sat down with one in October and looked through an hours worth of their material and thought they did a really nice job. Right now, the debate is... do we have some photos done before the ceremony to take advantage of the lighting and beautiful colors on the resort. I have mixed feelings on this!
I have heard great things about the Valentin... it should be a great resort to honeymoon at. I've heard it is pretty luxurious. I'd love to try it sometime myself!

NicoRuskies-

Congrats! You guys are getting married 2 days before us! We will be there the 24th, maybe we could meet up with you somewhere on the resort that week & say Hi!?! You are the closest I have seen to our date on the 30th. How far are you from Vancouver? We are actually temp. relocating to Vancouver either in April or May or after the wedding for about a year (FI work)?!! It would be great to have a friendly face in the area when we move!! Good luck with everything! Hope to chat with you soon!

Everyone-

So I have my STD planning thread complete!! I am FINALLY mailing them today!!! YAY!!!

The STD magnet that I created based off of inspiration from - Karla-!! Thank you so much!! I ordered these from 4over4.com - 200 magnets w/ 20% off discount code (mycouponsfree20) for a total $142.52. I created my own size 6†X 2.75†so we could use an A6 envelope (4 ¾â€, 6 1/2â€) in natural cream(discounted) for about $25/150 from paperandmore.com. We also created a rubber stamp(3/4†X 2 3/8â€) from rubberstampchamp.com (Ideal 100 self - inking stamp) for about $10. I also put our monogram on round labels from Office Depot (Avery Multipurpose Round removable labels, 1â€, White, Pack of 600 - $6.99 – Item #112441) & used clear return labels from Office Depot (Avery clear return labels, ½†X 1 ¾†- $11.99). We also enclosed a letter reminder to get everyone info on getting a start on planning for the trip.

This was ordered in Red Ink font used:Broadway

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
