We have decided

Recommended Posts

We have done a LOT of looking in the last couple of weeks and finally decided on Iberostar Bavaro for our wedding and then we are going to pop off to somewhere else for our honeymoon. I am so so excited (I like everything organised yesterday particularly if I am excited). The date will be January 2011, we need to confirm this.

The next thing will be finding a photographer so any suggestions are always welcome. In fact any suggestions are always welcome.

Yay!!!

Hannah - I would check out the vendor area for photog suggestions. There are so many that come highly recommended here on BDW. I LOVED my photog and a friend used her for a stateside wedding and also loved her. A lot depends on your photography budget.

Also - check out the other DR threads for off-resort activities, excursions, restaurants, etc. We went off resort several times to a local dive bar (Steves Corner Bar) and to eat at Jellyfish - and I HIGHLY recommend doing both (we took taxis).

Also, we did the Saona Island tour and it was THE BOMB. The Monster Safari also comes highly recommended and we are going to do that next time.

Happy Planning!!!

Hannah - We are using Michael Steingard from Ontario - He has done a ton of Dominican Weddings and his photos are amazing!! Another option is to use Photo Souvenir - they are local (Punta Cana) and I think quite a few ladies on here have used them and really loved their services!! You might want to do a search :) Happy planning!!

Hi,

I am also from Ottawa and I was looking at the Iberostar, can you give me the approx. prices for your guest based on the prices for 2010.

Do you have any pictures of wedding that the wedding coordinator would have send you.

Thanks

Thanks guys!! I will look into the photographers. My Fiance (still giggle at that) is quite into his photography so whoever we choose will be grilled!

Isa - the prices we have been looking at are all in UK pounds because nearly all of the party are coming from the UK. Also we haven't yet looked into any kind of group rate so I don't think the info will be of any use. You can get an idea though by looking at some of the travel agent websites for the approx dates you wanted. I would suggest doing what we did and do a trawl of the different websites and dates to see what you can find. One month or week will be more expensive than another. I guess it all depends on your budget. Hope that helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
