Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! Just under 4 months for our wedding. We are sending in our final decision on wedding stuff within the next two weeks :)

Quick question - was the flower girl provided any petals to throw as she went down the aisle? If not, I'm thinking of getting her a sign saying something like "here comes the bride.."

The cake they provide - do they provide any additional decor for it like flowers? Did you guys get a cake topper or is it not necessary with the decor added to it?

If I get coral and turqoiuse "confetti" larger than a penny to spread as added color to the tables in reception, will they allow this?

Who takes care of putting out our Thank You's onto each individual place setting? The resort staff right?

Thanks

Marta

Congrats on getting so close to your big day!

1. Flower petals are an extra. I believe I paid around $18.50 for a bag.  They will give some to the flower girl and they will pre-sprinkle the isle for you as well.

2. They will put flowers on the cake if you request this. Generally what they do is just pick flowers off the ceremony ones and the WC will put them onto the cake.  Can it be more formal? Probably, you would have to inquire. I preferred her just picking some from the ceremony flowers to save me in cost.   You can also get them to put ribbon on the cake - I requested fuchsia and she used her own stock.   I brought a cake topper as I felt it was more personalized and I think it looked really good. Either way is great though (you can see my pics in the links below)

3. I will assume that your confetti will be allowed. I was going to do this, but ended up not bothering.  Wish I had though!  My only concern for you though is if you are having your reception outside or in the palapa - if yes, the wind will blow it all off the tables.  If you can, maybe get the gems/rocks instead because they are heavier. You can find them at Dollarama and Michaels in numerous colors.

4. Your WC will handle any decor you have for the ceremony and reception. You give it to her in your meeting before the wedding and just give her a heads up on how you want it set up.  You can even take pics of it set up to show her.   I had separated all my items into large ziplock bags so it was easier for her to know how much and what goes on each table.

Hope that helps!

Any Grand Sirenis brides with upcoming weddings here? Anyone who had previously booked the presidential package have a tips or advice? I have booked the presidential package for May 3rd 2016 and we will be having our actual ceremony in the church at the Grand Sirenis. Im curious about peoples past experiences and current brides experiences with the wedding coordinators!

Congrats again,

We have a couple upcoming brides, but this thread has been a little quiet.

If you scroll back a ways in the thread there are a couple brides from last year who had the presidential package - oilersbride and okotoks bride. (I believe) they left great reviews.

I am going to send you a private message on here with some links to things you may find helpful.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask!

You typically don't get your WC until 1 month out. That said I never had any issues with communication over the 9 months I planned my wedding - it was Mexican time forsure, but they still got answered. I got my WC 1 month out - Araanza - and she was fabulous. Just remember you aren't their priority until a couple months out, but your wedding will go smoothly! When you are on site you are their number one!

If you decide to go with the gems/rocks I would recommend looking on eBay. I ordered LOADS of them for way cheaper than the Dollarama or Michaels. Just a thought.

Hi everyone.

Getting married here in October and have a query about the wedding certificates if anyone can help?

Do you get the wedding certificate straight away? Or if you send for legalisation do you get a copy of the certificate to take home?

Thanks in advance.

Helen.

Sorry Helen I had a symbolic ceremony so I'm not sure. I would email them and ask. I do know from other resorts and numerous reading on these boards that the certificate seems to come in the mail weeks to months after you go home. But again beat to check with the WC at the GS :)

Hi @@nkavanaugh

Congrats! We're getting married on 19 April 2016. I've been talking to one of the wedding coordinators, Adriana, for a couple of months now and she's been very helpful and always answered my questions. Sometimes I hear back from her within a day, sometimes a few days. But not had a problem so far!

Got a question for everyone...

I've been thinking about this... What have people done in the past or planning to do about paying for the extras while at the resort, including photographer? Just been wondering because we'll have to take a lot of pesos and US dollars, but that doesn't seem safe to take so much!

We paid for everything by credit card. We just had to ensure our credit card limit was enough. The resort is charged in peso. The resort photographer in US dollars. If you use someone off site you'll have to ask how they wanna get paid.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this website/thread. In doing some research for my upcoming wedding at GS (May 25, 2016), I came across this thread and have already found a lot of helpful information. For some reference to my questions below, we are expecting around 60 guests.

I do however have a few questions I want to throw out there - I am having a hard time choosing the location of my ceremony. I am thinking the "Playa Nueva", as that appears to be the most private beach location, however I am still unsure. Any help clarifying/pictures anyone has, would be much appreciated.

Also - I have been reading that the Italian restaurant has the nicest decor....any thoughts?

I am thinking about getting the hanging gazebo flowers - any thoughts/pricing for this?

Lastly - any thoughts on the reception after the ceremony - I'm thinking the snack bar as it is right on the beach, however again, not completely sure.

Any help is much appreciated!

Alex :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
