Hi ladies!I am just back to Ireland after 2 weeks of Paradise!!!!It was amazing, awesome, fantastic, great!!!!So,Marcela is amazing you are in the best hands ever! She knows and understands everything the bride wants! All the team was amazing! So our ceremony started at 4pm.My husband left at 3 and I got ready with Marcela, she helped me with the dress and collected me with the golf car, before that they collected all our guests and My husband;)My hairstyle and make up were done by my friend who is a stylist,my bouquet was brooch and I did flowers and buttonholes for the guests myself,we were 14 people. Our colour was yellow,so I have Marcela all deco I brought with me,also she did amazing job with flowers on the gazebo and she used Tiffany chairs with yellow ribbons without white covers. She was helpful, efficient organised. After the ceremony we had a half hour sparkling wine and appetisers toast on the beach(our ceremony was not in Palapa,we were on the Mayan beach near the ruin),then guests were brought to the lobby for a drink and we had a 2 hour photosession with Adventures photos, our photographer was Ulisus. He was amazing!Ver pleasant and understanding! He is artistic how I like;)I will try to download some pictures here,if only I knew how;)))At 6:30 we had reception in a Mexican restaurant and we had Michael Minitelli DJ,he is great!I wrote a playlist what we and our guests like and he had everything for us:)After the reception we went to the disco;)Weather on that day was great,a bit rainy though, but not too hot;)I like Ribiera Maya side more than Mauan beach as it's closer to everything apart disco,we stayed in the 18 building,19 is the best but you have to pay for the sea view;)It's close to spa, dolphins, sea ,pool ,theatre and lobby;)So everything was great!!!!If you go swimming with Dolphins choose Leo as your guide and package that includes photos as taking photos additionally will cost 950 pesos per person;)We went to Xichen Itza, had Irving as our guide he was brilliant! Also we went to deep sea fishing but me and one little boy didn't feel very good so basically just had deep sea ride no fishing;(If you have any questions feel free to write me and ask anything;)And don't forget to book your a le carte restaurants through your consierge before 3 pm better every Wednesday;)I would recommend Japanese,Brazilian and Mexican;)Also, would rev commend French as service and food is amazing!Even though you have to pay extra;)It's worth it;)Also,as newly weds you will get French and honeymoon dinner for free;)Honey moon dinner we had was ok,on the beach, but it was too windy and chilly so I would recommend those going soon to take more cardigans and jumpers with you to wear at night;)Yes,as Calgary bride said be very careful checking your bill and pay it before hand so that not to pay not for your stuff;)Defo visit spa as water circuit now is charged for the room not per person,it's 350 pesos per room;)I was 3 times the most perfect way to cure hangover;)For my hen I had Swedish massage,my masseur was Offelia, she was ok,but not enough pressure for me,my friends had deep muscle one on the beach for the Valenyine day,ir was amazing! We had the most amazing beach party on Saturday;)A good idea is to combine it with your wed and finish your party with the beach party;)Michael Minotelli is the most amazing DJ;)We had Amber package for the wedding;)The most amazing thing happened when my husband lost his wedding band after wedding and newlyweds from Canada Rebecca and her husband found it on the coral while snorkelling the day we were leaving,do they together with Marcela found us near the bus and gave it back!Hope she is in this group and I am so grateful For dverything they did!Fantastic people! Therefore girls, don't forget to engrave your names and wedding date on the bands just on case;)So girls good luck to everyone and write me should you have any questionsxxxxxdaivinosezoterika@@gmail.com

Congrats on your wedding and I'm so glad it went as you dreamed. I know it's hard to trust but now you've done it - you can tell others to trust that they are awesome!!

I didn't get the beach dinner included did you? Hubby's cousin bought us that as a gift. We just got the French restaurant. Awesome you got both ;)

Sorry you can't post pics here as I'd love to see them. Maybe post a link to Facebook or photbucket? I can try to give you instructions if you want to post here. Let me know.

I didn't know of a beach party but we arrived on Saturday so that's probably why. I have no Idea the name of our DJ but it sounds like you loved yours as much as we loved ours.

Sooooo glad someone found your hubby's ring omg. That would have sucked. I was so scared to wear mine I locked it in the safe.

Overall what is your impression of the resort and service?

Kim,I would like you to guide me how to post the pictures, tried to do it,but I am rubbish at this site unfortunately;(Assistance urgently needed;))))Yes,resort, service is great. However, service becomes much better after tip:)Resort changed to a better side since last year.I really like the holiday makers, atmosphere is friendly and nice.Didn't like consierge being pushy with this upgrade thing, making you become a VIP member etc.The only thing that really irritated. On the whole, good choice of food, good drinks, clean, tidy friendly, lots of activities. However, beach has those unpleasant rocks, not very pleasant to step in the sea.Related to beach dinner,Maybe it's a difference between European and American brides, maybe it's a present from Thomson, not sure why you didn't get it:(Really, have nothing huge to complain about.Maybe evening show was a bit of a high school play level, but I had friends to spend time with and was sometimes too tired to watch it,so didn't really need it a lot;)Animation team works hard all day but they are not too pushy, that is really very good,if you want to be more lazy;)If there are any more questions, feel free to ask ladies;)

Did anyone that booked the Grand Sirenis get pricing for both the Mayan Beach and Riviera Maya sides and allow guests the choice? I want lowest price and limited walking for some guests (so they would book under Riviera Maya) while others will have the cash and want the ocean view rooms close to the beach (so they would book under Mayan Beach).

Do I have to cater to the majority and make everyone book under Riviera Maya (most people will be happy)? Or maybe I'm over thinking things here, lol

Over thinking. If in Canada you would get a quote for one or the other with the airline. Ours was RM side. Our guests who wanted to upgrade to ocean view (that's the only difference) did so at check in. Each side has stuff near the rooms - pools, Buffett, etc so I wouldn't worry about this. They aren't that far apart. Maybe a 5 min walk from main lobby. Mayan side is closer to beach but again not that far from RM side IMO

Thanks @@calgarybride2015! Didn't realize that guests would have an opportunity to upgrade to an ocean view after the fact.

We had 3 couples do it at check in. Each paid a different price as an FYI.

I thought you could just upload to your gallery here but I have been trying to figure out how and can't seem too.

What I do is have a free account with www.photobucket.com

Once I upload them to this site, I use the 'share' feature and copy the 'img' code right into my messages here and the picture pops up!  (I take out the html part of the link but you don't have too)

Let me know if you need more help.

ohhhhh, I guess you go to the 'gallery' link at the top of the page and then once in there you can make a new album.

Then once you upload them there just let us know and we can go view them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
