Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Ahh Calgarybride2015 your review had me laughing, crying and smiling! It sounds amazing! I was reading it aloud to my fiancé (as he was dealing with our toddler) & I had to stop a few times as I was welling up (especially the bit about the ceremony)

I have been so stressed about everything and your advice is invaluable. I think I have decided to have Perla do our pictures, I love yours. Im just going to email the weddings team at GS & ask for a price list for extras, Im getting a little anxious about all of the extra things I need to pay for :) x

Thank you for this.

I think I will be ok about my hair not having a trial, Im more fussy about my make up if Im honest, but Im going to book for a trial with MAC makeup in the next few months so I will take a back up in case I really don't like it..

Please can I ask, would your guests have known it was a symbolic and not legal ceremony if you hadn't told them? Id prefer my legal ceremony to be in the UK and have a 'blessing' there but I don't want my guests to think they have been conned out of a 'wedding' xx

I am SO excited after reading your review! x

The only people who would know are ones who've seen a legal ceremony in Mexico previously. Also remember countries vary so if I hadn't asked them to allow my 'fake' witnesses to sign who's the wiser to know what's normal for Mexico or not unless they've been to a Mexican wedding. I had my coordinator add witnesses and no one asked me anything. That said though, many asked me during the week what we planned to do and we said we had yet to decide but most said they'd just do it legally at home hahah so at the end of the day it seems my guests wouldn't have cared either way. That was our wedding day and our celebration of marriage if it was legal or not :)

I loved the makeup done by Isis and Carmen. I think you are totally in safe hands.

Glad my review helped! I relied on these the last 9 months and want to pay it forward.

The extra costs IMO are reasonable!! But definatley ask for their price list. As I booked in 2014 I got those rates.

I loved your review! I too was reading it aloud to my fiancé and every so often had to stop to gather myself! I'm so glad it was as wonderful as you hoped! Only 38 days til ours. Random question, but what did you think about the beach? And the pools? I think this is where we will be spending all of our time. :0)

We spent all days at the pool and only one at the beach. I personally think it's nicer than the reviews give credit but most days we had the red flag so the pool was easier for the kids. We used the pool at the lobby as it was closest to our rooms. One day we went to the Mayan beach pool (near ice cream Bar) it was just as nice. Their activities were more crazy lol. Lazy river also rocks. Many memories in that thing. If you get a yellow or green flag take the time to snorkel. Looks awesome and our guests loved it. We waited and it turned to a daily red flag so didn't get to go.

Im so glad you did pay it forward :) its been really helpful.

I do think the rates are good, I wasn't complaining about them, we are just on a very tight budget (unfortunately) so I am trying to keep control on the budget as much as possible xx

Oh me too. I was very anal about not going over the budget and not having debt. I meant more in the general sense. Some of the costs some of the other girls report at other resorts make me ill.

Oh really, I haven't read any other threads.

Oo I know I had something to ask you, how did you contact Perla at Adventure Photos? Do you have an email for them? I tried to find them online but couldn't see anyone based at the Sirenis & think I am looking at the wrong site :/

Thanks again xx

I was never able to find them online for the Sirenis either. I just used their basic email and addressed them to Perla. hahah!  Probably annoyed the other guys who worked there.   The email is <sirenis@adventures-photos.com>

If you make no headway with that, she had a Facebook page for her personal company and I am sure you could probably contact her that way - she seems pretty reasonable!!!

Yes, I had a convo with another bride yesterday that one of the decor packages for the ceremony was $3000 (yes you read that right)... I only paid $5500 for my whole wedding!!!

That's great thank you, I will email her later today.

Oh my goodness, I nearly spat my coffee out then!! That is an awful lot of money (so now I will count my lucky stars I chose the Sirenis too, as my first choice was elsewhere!)

I honestly had replies same day, but no longer than 2 days later.  Depends if there was a lot of weddings tying them up!

What was your first choice?

i had GS and then a place in Ixtapa as my top 2.

Ah that's good then!

My first choice was the Grand Bahia Principe but when we went to book it on the morning that the holidays/weddings got released for 2015, it had sold out within the hour! I went into panic mode and chose the GS without really looking at it previously - well we had looked at it but it was much more expensive than the Bahia so Id dismissed it. As it turns out the GBP had hugely put their prices up so way more than the GS so fate worked its way for us. And now I cant wait!!! Im hoping that this next 6 months flies by!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
