Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

WoW! I just found this thread today and I've been sitting here reading for over an hour now!

I am getting married at GS on November 25, 2011 and so many of my questions that I have been thinking about over the past few months have just been answered. Thank you ladies!

I sent a msg to Kbodchill and I am looking forward to seeing some pictures of the palapa, it sounds amazing!

If anyone else has pictures, please send them to me [email protected]

Thanks for sharing and creating this thread, I love it!

@Iravley: Sorry for the delay! I sent you the palapa pics! :) :) :)Congratulations on your daughter's wedding!!!

@DianeKeelon: I sent you pics as well! Congrats on your wedding!!

I'm excited you've both found the thread :)

Well, things are finally moving along for my own wedding! We finally confirmed all the pricing and travel arrangements (our date was based on the best rates we could get) and we can confirm that we will be there Jan 14-21, 2011. I emailed Araceli to book the palapa on January 19th, 2012 :)  Sooooooooo excited!

Now I'm in a mad dash to send out travel information this week (pre - invitations, crap!) because deposits are due soon... Unforchunately, with gas prices rising, there is talk of imposing another one of those "fuel surcharge" taxes on flights... great...

@mexicobird81  congratulations on your wedding.  I'm getting married on the 1st of June.  I have booked the platinum package and i have also got the palapa. I will forward you the picture i have of the palapa.  It looks amazing.  I was going to have my wedding on the 31st May as this was the 1st date we could get married with having to be there so many days before.  However it is my mum and dads wedding anniversary on the 1st of June and thought it would be nice to share this day.

@Donnaalec Thanks for the photo I have emailed now to book the palapa. We are 25 so hope that it doesn't look to big. Its beautiful though. I was just reading your post about the photographer. In the platinum package we get 10 free photos was the price you had from the photographer reasonable?

Congratulations on your wedding, how many of you are going? We will see you there :)

1 last question which I am getting conflicting advice on is the translation of our birth certificates. Is it a must that we do it?

Thanks

@mexicobird81

I have had emails from both Araceli and Blanca, the previous coordinator, saying that birth certificates do not have to be translated unless you have been married before.  I was also worrying about that but i am just going to print off and take my emails with me.  I think it is just your passport and birth certificate have to read the same and i suppose it doesn't matter what language you speak or understand it is quite clear that it says the same whether they understand it or not.  There are also 25 of us for the wedding.  Do you have the photographers email address and website?  It was around $1200 for 80 digital prints on disc and a 40 minute DVD.  If you email them they are really quick at getting back to you.  I am also having the platinum package with the 10 photographs included but i know now that i will want more so that is why i am sorting it out now as i need to budget for things like this as to me having the photgraphs is a big part of your day as they are always there to look back on.

@ Donnaalec

Would you be able to send me the email address for the photographer please. Is this the hotel photographer. Agree 100% about the photos and theres no way that I would only be able to choose 10 to keep. Hope all your wedding plans are going well. I have sent my forms back to Araceli and had a reply back asking for clarification on some things just waiting now for a reply from that message.

@mexicobird81  I haven't sent in my forms as yet but will have to get on with it very soon.  The email for the photographer is [email protected]

The guys name is Francisco, he seems really nice.  I''m just going through my list for everything that there is still to do.  It's quite scary because i have quite a lot to do, thought i was organised but i always think of something else and we fly out there12 weeks tomorrow.  Good luck with everything.

The palapa is beautiful, thanks again @kbodchill for sending the pictures. I will absolutely be booking the palapa for my wedding on November 25.

I am booking through Air Transat which includes 24 people and should be an extra $10 per person after that but I was reading in earlier posts that it is different if you have the palapa.

Does anyone know for sure what the pricing is per person if you are booking an Air Transat wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
