I hate to hear the everyone and their mother's are getting laid off. Same thing happened to me last May. I have to say though, that it's not the end of the world. I'm glad you have the support of everyone including your past co-workers, that is really sweet of them. Good luck in your job search!

That is so uplifting that you can find a positive light in the situation. You have such a great attitude and it sounds like you are completely deserving of all the support you are getting. I hope that everyone works together and you do find something wonderful. Sometimes these things are blessings in disguise wink.gif Good Luck!!! And I"m sorry to hear your sad news :) Way to stay positive!

thank you ladies. i posted this thread about a week ago and i have to say that today was not a good day. i broke down and cried - really bad (still am)! i really want to stay positive, but it's so hard! not only do i not have a job, but my FI is also looking for one too. with everything that i still have to do for the wedding and dealing with my families' booking for the wedding i just seriously cannot find the time to apply. i have applied to a couple of places, but obviously that is not enough. i'm just so scared that come the day i get called into HR i still wont know what's going to happen and my FI still wont have a job. i don't even know where we're going to live or if we can afford to rent a place. i'm so upset over this whole situation. i wish things were different and i wish that i just knew everything will be okay.

if there is one thing i have realized in all of this, it has brought us closer together and has made us stronger. i know there is no one else in the world i want to be with! i love him soooo much! unfortunately our financial situation is in shambles right now crybaby2.gif sad.gif

I totally understand what you are going through & sorry to hear that. I was basically given the news last Tuesday. We were told we had 2 options - to take the layoff package when it becomes available or take a position which meant taking a reduction in pay (but this job would eventually end too b/c our company is closing its doors forever, so it was just buying time). I chose to take the layoff package when it becomes available b/c I would still get paid my same salary for a few weeks after the layoff. It is hard because we get married July 28th. I do thank God b/c I was able to sell my house in April and moved in with my fiance at his apartment so now we can at least save money right now.

It's tough in the economy right now & affecting a lot of people. Keeping praying & have faith that you will find something else better.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
