the reason i'm not too worried about him playing the song is because it's already acoustic. otherwise it would have required him figuring out how to translate it from electric to acoustic and it could have lost some of its appeal. the song is "swing life away" by rise again... at the very least you guys should look up the lyrics.. it's SO good!

That's so funny, I got my FI best man to play my song walking down the asile (Canon, in C on gutair) But sadly he wont be able to make it, so it wont be played live, it'll be on my Ipod.

Your puppies are sooo adorable!!! They look like the perfect dogs to cuddle up with in the cold winter days!
good luck with your email!! it certainly can't hurt and it will give you some peace of mind i'm sure! are you having your FI's friend record it and then playing it? that's always an option so he still gets to be part of the ceremony!

ok so I sent the e-mail out today!!! I need to know your guys opinion. Did I come off to strong? I really hope not.. I don't want to look like bridezilla!!

Good Afternoon,

How are you? I am terrible sorry for having to send this e-mail out, I don't want anyone to feel like I am harassing anyone, however this information does need to be handed out.

As most of you know, our rsvp date was October 1st. We did not receive most of your rsvp's. We realized people need more time to figure out their vacation plans for April. I've ask for an extension, our wedding coordinator was very understanding. She gave me a new rsvp date for January 15th 2010.

The way it works: We must give our coordinator a full head count (which was suppose to be done Oct but thank god for great people and now the due date is Jan 15) This is how many people she sets the wedding up for chair's,menus, cake, alcohol. If I don't have an rsvp now for Jan 15 and someone decides March they want to come, there will be a fee added, which we are not willing to pay. Same thing if you say yes, and at the end your not coming there is a fee add.

It is very important that Mike and I know your rsvp no later then Jan 15th as this is when we have to contact our coordinator again.

Also we are making gift bags, and We can not do this last minute either, another reason why it is important to rsvp. Let's make this very clear, when we say we want your rsvp, we don't mean you have to purchase your package right away, you can do this whenever you please, even if that means 1 week before we leave. We just need to know your attention of coming or not. No one needs to book their package yet, or of Jan 15. Again you can book whenever you feel your ready.

Please visit our site for all information. Welcome to our Destination Wedding Website | Welcome | TracyandMike you can even rsvp on the website!

Thank you so much for your understanding, and we appreciate any response.

Yours truly,

Tracy and Mike

I don't think the letter is too strong..but me personally I wouldn't mention the gift bags..since that is something You are wanting to do for your guests. I would stress that you need an rsvp in order for accomadations because of the reasons you mentioned. Stress that they should do this to keep from avoiding excessive fees..other than the gift bag part I think you were straight and to the point....

We are kinda still in a recession and with the holidays coming some people may be slow to respond or not at all.

Good point about the bag, I guess I should have come check with you guys befor actually sending it lol ooopps!!! Oh well!! I wont stress over it.

Your right about the holiday and all that, that is why I gave it a few weeks after the holiday, so they can have more of an understand. I did clearify they didn't have to book until they were ready, just needed to know their attention. Your right.. knowing our family and friends, most probably wont even reply. At that point I wont care,I'll only care about the people who actually rsvp.

Thanks for your opinion, much appreciation!!

Just for anyone looking it up, the band name is actually Rise Against :) I've seen them a few times in concert as well and they are a great band! If you're unfamiliar with them I'd definitely recommend this song first, as some of their stuff can be a little, well, loud. hahaha! But definitely a great song! (and it's actually my girlfriends 'song' with her boyf!).

And as for the letter you sent, I think you stated it well for people that you had to go and seek an extension because they were the ones who didn't reply. And also that it isn't your own deadline, but rather one that was given to you by the resort, so hopefully people will be more understanding down the road when you have to put your foot down once the date comes and goes. Hopefully you'll get some renewed feedback from your guests and they smarten up finally!

yes hopefuly!!

one of FI's gm stop over today to pick something up, he said 'we are not sure yet, since you probably know we booked 2 vacations from now 'til March) after I sent the invites, he plans other vacation, Nice!!! I think this wedding will truly tell us are true friends from the fake ones. I totaly understand people who can not afford it to come, but to say you planned other vacation after the invites were sent out this summer, is totaly a different story!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
