If it is the grounds you are looking for then its probably the Colonial you want because they have the system down and its better maintained as of right now.

There are two big differences between the Colonial and the Majestic. One is that the rooms are more open concept, without the jacuzzi in the middle. Also the restaurant decor is nicer at the Elegance. Also, if you are looking for a service where you get a butler, and snacks all day, and extra drinks, and more private swimming pools then the Elegance Club is for you.

And the Elegance Club is adults only, which is a popular option, especially with groups. Private access beach...upgraded amenities etc. And your family with the kiddies can still stay at the same property.

I've had nothing but good feedback from both Majestic resorts. And I've dealt with management and staff on little issues here and there and they've always been most accomodating. Food is hit or miss in some restaurants but that's always such a personal opinion. But noone will go hungry if that's what you're worried about :)

Elegance is still new, so if you're looking for the grounds to be more lush and grown in, obviously the Colonial is the way to go.

Which RIU? The Palace or one of the others?

I just want people to come and be like WOW this is an amazing looking place. I was thinking riu palace punta cana(have you seen it?)..I went to the riu palace in riv maya and I had a great experience there..and if it wasnt for this awful swine flu i'd just do it there because it was nice, and I thought because they are such a huge chain they prob do alot of weddings. But truthfully before I went to this site I figured it will be easy call a hotel, book a date and thats it..but so many brides I gotta get moving here if I want something done by next spring.

If you've seen the RIU Palace in Playa del Carmen, it is VERY similar to the one in Punta Cana. The Palaces don't vary much in layout/amenties etc. The beaches are much nicer in Punta Cana though. And the entrance to the one in Punta Cana is definately a WOW factor. Just driving up the hill to the resort is amazing. It's a really pretty place. I find the WC at each to be easy to deal with as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
