I am trying to decide what wedding favors to get for our guests... I am thinking of photo coasters but it will be too heavy and costly to bring 40+ of them... What are your wedding favors? Any ideas or suggestions will be HELPFUL!

I'm looking to getting small, not one shot, bottles of jamaican rum for my guests. I know that this will be costly, but I figure these folks are spending alot to be with us on this special day. I want my favors not to wind up in the kitchen draw with all the other junk I have in there. (Mine usually wind up in there.) I know folks will drink it up.

I read a funny article about favors, can't remember where I found it. It put this question in perspective. I'll look for it and post it. (I found the link here somewhere actually.)

We are doing starfish bottle openers. Here's the link:

We have 50 guests, and I work full-time and go to law school part-time in the evenings, so OOT bags were not a feasible option for us - no time! The bottle openers are so cute, and I think they'll come in handy! We have a few children coming, and for them we'll pick up something at the gift shop when we get to Punta Cana.

I'm trying to figure out my favors as well...I don't want to bring anything too heavy or buy anything too expensive! I am definitely someone who throws wedding favors I receive in a junk draw and leaves them there forever.

I was thinking of getting cigars/matchbooks and something else and placing them at alternating seats. No clue what the "something else" is at the moment.

My favors are champagne glasses. My friends and I have been going to champagne brunch together for years, I even have FI loving brunch. My resort charges a fee to rent the glasses. So....I went to the 99 cent store and bought 50 of them. I had our names, dates and a palm tree printed on them. They are at the engraving place now. He charged me $1.85 per glass for the engraving (after negotiating) and they will be ready next week. I will decorate each one with a pink ribbon (leftovers) and gift tags with our logo on it (free at vista print). I will wrap them in bubble wrap that i got in bulk from downtown and FI will travel with them as a carry on. I am only taking enough for my guests (probably 30). The remainder we will send to family and friends who don't make the trip but send gifts. I will post a pic of the finished product. Total cost for each one is about $3.50 or so?? Not too much to pay for people who travel from LA to Jamaica for a wedding!?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
