    Hi there,

I am going to incorporate a shell blessing in my ceremony and it involves everyone going to the edge of the ocean and tossing a shell back after the blessing. Each shell has a word on it- a wish of sorts- "love" "faith" "friendship" etc...They get the shell when they are being seated for the ceremony.

So my question is what kind of marker would you write the word on the shell with? It goes back in the ocean- so nothing toxic.. any suggestions? Maybe non toxic paint? I am thinking a marker may look cheesy.

I love this idea it is a beautiful sentiment...there are paint pens at any craft store in a array of colors and tip sizes those would probably be good so you can write clearly and they are non toxic (I think)

I'm doing this as well. I think instead of writing on the shells, we'll ask the guests to make a wish for us.
