How can I Post/Rip Wedding Video?

Recommended Posts

I received our ceremony video before we left Mexico but now I can't post it online. I have no idea what I even need to do but I don't want to download a program that gives my computer a virus, etc. I also don't want to post my video if it would be illegal. There is no copyright symbol or wording on my video so I think it would be OK to post?

My in-laws asked if we could give them a copy of the DVD but I have no idea how to do this. Does anyone on here know how to do this? We only have Windows Media Player and HP player on our laptop.

TIA!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not against just buying extra copies but I'm afraid I won't get them in time for our two receptions. Thanks for the input!

to make a copy I think you can just burn a copy of the DVD (assuming you have a DVD burner on your computer).

Reformatting it is more complicated. My husband was able to reformat mine so I could upload it to youtube (in chunks because the site only allows 10 min videos) but I don't know how he did it.

if you put the cd in your drive, when it pulls up, copy the file and save/paste it on your desktop.

take the cd out and replace it with a blank cd. it should say "preparing disk" or something. when it's ready, copy and paste the file from your desktop to the prepared cd, then when it's done make sure to right click the cd file and "close the session".

hmmmm. I hope that's what you were asking haha, if not, disregard wink.gif

  • 3 weeks later...

that may work to make a copy but maybe not to upload it online (for example to youtube). I know for my video, it wasn't just one file, it was dozens of different files (I assume because of the menu, the music, the chapters, etc) so my husband had to reformat it to make it all one file so that I could upload it to youtube.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
