If I could go back in time... I would just simply just contact the Riu myself through their web site. Go to "weddings" and put in your stay info. and just request the date you want! That easy(that's why I was soooo very mad at my TA).

The Riu will contact YOU directly by email whether you do it or the TA. They will give you a confirmation code to enter back on their site and presto: your date is confirmed!

Our wedding date in August 7, 2009 at RPTB. You have to be on their property for 2 full business days before your ceremony. So, your fly in date DOES NOT COUNT as a day(it's like a half of day they consider). Also, weekends don't count either.

My TA messed this up too, so we have to fly in on Tues. of that week instead of the Wed. that we had planned to, to have our ceremony on Friday.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I know how you feel.....but he's right YOU need to just email the Riu directly. I was mad too, but it's your info and email that they have as a contact. Plus, I don't know if you're like me, but I rathered that I emailed them and cut out the 3party info that wasn't correct to start with.

Also, when I got my confirmation number finally, it says that the Riu holds the "date" for 30 days until someone confirms that they def. want that particular date/time. So, don't worry because there could be people that requested a certain date but will back out of it and not confirm it.

I would suggest just sending the WC there a direct email asking for the date/time that you want to start. Then ask what your options are from there.

Hope this helps you.

Jennie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
