Anyone ever had a palm reading or other "psychic" stuff??

Yup. On a boardwalk in San Diego....and I didn't believe a damn word of any of it. Til a few years later, I looked back on it and realized it had ALL happened. I didn't want to hear it at the time, because she nailed some very angsty stuff right off.

-Told me that I would not end up with the man I was married to at the time. That the marriage would fail and I would move back east. The reading was in the summer of 1996, I was seperated and back home by August 1998.

- She saw me with several children, but she couldn't say spefically what I was having because it looked "very strange. I see you more than one of each boys and girls, but they all look to be about the same age..." This made NO sense to me at the time, and now look what happened.

-gave me the initial of the man I'd end up with. Said not to be confused because I would "date several men with the same initial (J), one right after the other, but the initial of the man you'll marry isn't his given name". Made NO sense and seemed easy enough to disprove. Nope. I went on to date James, Jason, Josh and John....Billy is William JAMES. lol

-Saw me going to work after I moved and entering a "flat building; one story, very shiny, reflective glass construction." that was my office building for two years after I returned from San Diego. Very distinctive HUGE one story glass building.

YES! I've been twice and loved it.

One of my best friends was having a rough time with her boyfriend and we decided to go see a psychic just for fun. She had moved to a new city to be with him over a year ago and had been upset that he hadn't proposed yet.

So, the psychic told her she needed to be patient. That he was serious about her and he was going to propose. But that he was trying to get his career better established before he proposed and just to trust him and relax.

She went home and told her then boyfriend what the psychic said and he said "holy crap, that's really weird. That is really what's going on with me. I have it in my head that after I get this next promotion THEN I'll be at a point where I could ask your dad for your hand and I just wasn't comfortable going to him until I had a better job". Long story short, he got a promotion, and they're married now.

So, when I went into the psychic's room, which was covered with over a thousand pictures of the pope which I found completely distracting because I couldn't stop thinking "I didn't realize Catholocism and Spiritual Readings meshed?" she told me that I was going to marry the boy I was with (now husband), that we were going to have some very rough times and that I was going to have fight for this relationship, that we were soulmates, but good things don't come easy. Shortly after that, he made the decision to get out of the military and we went through the hardest transition I could imagine and we both hung on tight. (Sometimes I wonder if I would have stuck it out if the psychic hadn't told me to, but I'm so glad I did.) She also said I'd have 3 kids (we'll see!), and that I was going to get a promotion soon (I did) and have a very successful career where I would make lots of money, but that I was going to have trouble holding onto it and I needed to be careful. (That one still haunts me. Especially since she told my friend that money was going to flow in her life very easily and she was never going to have to worry about it.)

I then went back to her again about 6 months later and she didn't remember me. And I thought "hmm...if she's psychic, wouldn't she have known I was coming back?" But she told me all the same things. 3 kids, good career, soulmate...

Also, and I'm almost embarassed to admit this, but I called Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams show when I was in college. I had gone through a ridiculously painful breakup and just decided to pick up the phone one day. I paid $300 for her to tell me that I was going to marry a short, balding man who would have been blonde at one point. And that I wouldn't get married until I was 37. (That phone call was one of the most depressing of my life.) I married a 6'2" brunette with a full head of hair when I was 30, so I'm pretty sure that was the worst $300 I've ever spent. cheesy.gif

My question is: Have any of who have been to a psychic listened to what they said so closely that you think it could have altered your path in life? There were several times during hubby and I's rough patch where I thought about giving up, but several times I told myself "the psychic told you you have to fight for it, so FIGHT" and weirdly enough I really think that helped get us through. (And I am so happy it did!!) So, I wonder if going to a psychic can actually change things for us? Hmmm...

Wow great story!!

Funny- we were saying the same thing.. our psychic had crosses and religious pictures too- but we were thinking how weird it was because that sort of thing is against catholic religion! Very weird.

And thats a very good question!! I was wondering the same thing. She said my current guy (who i would marry) would go through some times that I feel like we are miles apart but that I shouldnt take that as a sign that we should seperate because we will get through it and should be together. I was wondering too- will that make me fight through the hard times when maybe I wouldnt have otherwise??

I also said that to my friend because she is currently not in a relationship but the psychic told her that she already knows the person she will marry. So I was wondering if she will carry that and not give anyone new a chance??

I guess you probably subconsciously consider what the psychic said.. but mix it with your own feels and gut too.

Well I guess its clear why she saw "J" so prominently! wink.gif
Thats the kind of stuff though that makes me skeptical.. the general stuff.. but when they get so specific.. it gets a little weird!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
