Paradisus Brides...Punta Cana or Palma Real?

Recommended Posts

Hi Katie,

The firt thing that we did was compare the prices between property, Palma Real, is more expesive, I like PPC more because the property is very tropical and the room rate is less expensive than PLR also the wedding package have differents prices but are the same. I like both Paradisus but my fiance and I can not afford the cost of a wedding in this awesome resort.

I hope this information help you.

Hello Katie,

I'm was considering both Paradisus too. but I've decided on the Punta cana location. The difference between the two is that the Plama Real is more Mondern Feel and little more pricey and the Punta Cana is more Tropical feel and a little less expensive... I hope that was helpful. Best wishes!

Hi!

Can anyone tell me any major differences between these resorts and if these resorts are located on the same grounds or next door to each other? PPR has my preferred wedding date available, but I am concerned it may be too expensive for some of my guests. PPC is a better price for guests but does not have my date available. Both look absolutely beautiful!

If they are not next to each other, any suggestions for more affordable option for guests near PPR?

Thanks!

Melia Caribe is another resort under the Paradisus umbrella - next to PPR and much more affordable.

I would go into more detail - but there are numerous threads in the Dominican Republic section about this very question already. Let me know if you have questions about how to search - but TONS of info is posted on here to help you!

PS - I was married at PPC and honeymooned at PPR.

No, unfortunately they are not located next to each other. The two closet resorts to Paradisus Palma Real are the Melia Caribe Tropical (which both are owned by Sol Melia Resorts) or the Eden NH Real Arena. Both of those resorts are cheaper options for those guests who find PPR a bit too pricey.

Keep in mind though that for your wedding day, a lot of resorts charge a visitor fee for a day pass (usually up until 6pm) and then for a night pass past 6pm. I know that the Melia Caribe charges $95 for a day pass and then another $95 for a night pass...it might be about the same since the PPR and Melia are owned by the same company.

Thanks so much for your responses!!

Foxytv - Did you see a big difference between PPC and PPR? Was PPR worth the extra money? I have already read some of the more recent posts for these resorts, but I will definitely take some time to explore the older posts as well.

Jennierin - You're saying it is possible that some people may need to pay $190 to cover day and evening if the wedding spans before and after 6pm? For that price, they may be better off to just stay at PPR! I will check into resort prices at Melia and 1 day passes at PPR.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
