I am really looking forward to giving up the TA part of this whole experience... and trust me, my guests better not come to me with all their little issues when we're at the resort. I am going to lose it if that happens.
Same here, i have been planning this wedding for over 2 years! def sad it will be over soon and dont know what i will do with all my free time. Luckily i haven't had the TA questions from the guest, that would drive me crazy.

Just seen the wedding review of DLR on trip adviser, glad now I decided against the beach, the bride is actually walking past the sun loungers, we were in Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana

and it is what put me off getting married there, the gazebo was right in the middle of the pool area and women were walking right up to the gazebo in their bikinis, Really not what I want for my wedding photos.

Anyone choosin a beach wedding, it might be an idea, what some people did at majestic was to ask a few people they had met down there and that aren't guests to ask holiday makers to be respectful and stay back!!!!

Even if the english isnt great, I don't want to pay and I will print a copy for guests to read during the cocktails or something.
We're doing our own vows and a few of our guests will do readings. I have asked Tiara to do a short intro and to say the words "I know pronounce you husband and wife." and she has agreed to do that for free.

Also ladies, I just tried to confirm with Tiara that the wooden Chuppa is $350 and she responded that it is actually $850 - HAAAAA!

The decoration is $350.

That's insane!

I guess there goes that idea.

Does anyone have photos of the "natural arches" that they have and what is the price for that again?

If you look on trip adviser about 6 or 7 reviews down of Dreams La Romana, there is a good picture of the beach set up and you can see the natural arch, it says on the list that the natural arch is $175. They really do know how to charge, I really begrudge paying over the odds as we are already bringing people to their hotel who wouldn't normally go!!!

So I'm bringing as much as I can with me, I'm bringing my own decorations for the gazebo (though in a slight panic about that as I can't get an answer from them) and I'm bringing real touch flowers. A few people have come back and said the flowers weren't great and they arrived late. At least the girl making my flowers is working with me and sends me pictures of them so i can change bits and pieces until I'm happy. Then instead of the brides bouquet that comes with the "complimentary" wedding package I'm going to get a table arrangement instead.

I'm getting so excited, we started our paperwork on Friday, we got our single status affidavids done and posted everything away for legalisation. its starting to feel real now :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
