my e-session is this sun (yikes)

Recommended Posts

so this sunday i have my engagement session, i can not believe it ;o) im kinda excited but more feeling like an ass b/c knowing random people will be walking around as we stand there and pose is weird but whatever. my bro's gf helped me pick out a cute outfit so i hope it looks okay for the pix. now i just have to find joe something to wear. we're going to center city around logan squar, washington square, we'll find a cute coffee shop and a park with benches or something. i know my photographer, danielle durie, will do an amazing job so thats reassuring at least. im putting my mother theresa statue facing out the window and pray its nice out or sat!

did anyone else feel cheesey doing your photos or was it okay? did anyone have a cocktail before hand? lol i just might.

ours wasn't outside infront of people...but I did have to straddle my FI so our heads could be really close in the picture and it was so ackward and not us and it totally showed in the picture....we def. didn't pick that one!! You'll be fine though...I bet people are going to think it is so cute...or that perhaps you are famous or something...you should totally play it up!

have fun jac! danielle is a fantastic photog, so i know your pics will be just gorgeous!

ps, a drink first is a good idea! just to loosen up and help you not care wtf people are thinkin :) also, try not to stress! you would never know it by looking at our e-pics, but doug and i were actually very very grumpy with each other during the session, i got super stressed out right before and bit his head off and he got pissed back at me, and the whole time we were gritting our teeth but smiling! looking back its a funny story, but it sure ruined what should have been a happy memory, at the moment haha sad.gif

I actually was proposed to DURING our engagement shoot (well, I didn't realize it was a photo shoot until after the ring... but still) and so I felt SUPER awkward! It was crazy because I was SO happy and I just wanted to kiss my husband and take a second to let it all soak in, but we had to take pictures. So it was weird. However, I must say that I love the photos because I truly look SO happy in them. It's a genuine smile.

My best advice, just have fun. The photos I take where couples are having fun and being themselves are by far better than any "staged" photo that I set up. So just goof off and make fun of yourselves for being so lovey dovey for the day. The pictures will end up much better for it.

Have a great time!

I felt a bit cheesy at first, especially when she was making us look at each other. But after a while I started to enjoy it and was sad when it was over...same with my BD pics though. I think it all has to do with how comfy your photog makes you wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
