I posted this question in another thread and I don't think it was answered (or I over looked it because of the INSANE amount of posts), but what do you suggest/believe is a good photo package?
i think a min. of 5 hours...i had mine for 5 hours and wish i had another hour.

if you have a welcome dinner/reception i would add a few hours for that or have it part of the package...i thought i did not need because steve's mom is a photographer but she was too busy having fun to work.

i just posted above but i would have LOVED to have had 1 more hour...

i think those camera's that are put on tables are such a waste of $$ (sorry if you like this)...you spend $$ for the cameras, then people are drunk or do not know how to use the camera or are kids that are screwing around taking pics...then you pay all this $$ and time to develop the cameras...only to find not 1 good pic.

that right there is worth another hour of your photogs time.

Great tips Tammy! I had no idea you worked as an assistant! Maybe I can hire you sometime! :-)

Amy, a "good" package is one that has everything that you want in it. What you should do is think about what you want from a photographer. Do you want loose prints? An Album? Albums? What photos do you really want? What style do you like? Find a photographer who's work you like and talk with them about their packages or have them build you a package based on what you think you want.

On my site I have "suggested" packages meaning I've put together packages based on what in my experience, brides want. of course, not all brides are the same so I can custom build a package for anyone if needed. Of course, there is a basic starting point and then you work up from there.

does that make sense?

I hired JC for 10 hours and am also getting the coffee table book made. My photography is def going to be the most expensive thing at my wedding but my FI and I literally have no pics together so this is very important to us. Also, my FI has never traveled and we have never taken a vacation so this will be memories for us to cherish forever. I love the coffee table book (thanks to Jonathan's suggestions I decided to get it) and I am so happy I am getting it. I know later on I would have been upset if I didn't get it. And I think 10 hours is a good amount of time so that I can make sure I get all the pics I want.

Everytime I see this post I always wonder if I hired Juan for enough time. I started with 1.5 hours, and now I'm at 3 hours. I'm not having a reception, just a dinner, we also have a small wedding guest list (10 people max) Since none of my family (as of yet) are attending it's not important to me to do "getting ready" shots. So Juan is meeting me at my room to take a few shots for about 10 minutes then heading to meet Cain for some before the ceremony shots around the resort (for an hour) then off the to ceremony and after cermony shots. I think 3 hours is going to be enough time... well at least I hope it will be.

this is great, thanks for this Tammy. I think I finally decided on a photog and she will be there for 8-10 hours. I have a list of shots I know I already want, but this was so helpful. I think I have decided I will do all pictures before except any that require both my FI and I. I don't want to see him before the ceremony.

this is the package the photographer I think I am getting offers...I think it's pretty fair. Of course I cannot do the engagement session, so instead I will either take that out and save about $200 or she will add in an a la carte item worth the same at the engagement session.

"I offer full coverage with two photographers, a DVD of approximately 800 finished images, a slideshow, an online gallery of all images plus a separate gallery for the 'best of' images for family and friends, all print ready files on CD, an engagement session and a portrait session for $3400."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
