Father Daughter Dance-- Looking for a Great song!

Recommended Posts

I CHOSE ''DAUGHTER'' BY Loudon Wainwright . I fell in love with this song. it's at the end of the movie knocked up. Here are the lyrics.

Everything she sees

she says she wants.

Everything she wants

I see she gets.

That's my daughter in the water

everything she owns I bought her

Everything she owns.

That's my daughter in the water,

everything she knows I taught her.

Everything she knows.

Everything I say

she takes to heart.

Everything she takes

she takes apart.

That's my daughter in the water

every time she fell I caught her.

Every time she fell.

That's my daughter in the water,

I lost every time I fought her.

I lost every time.

Every time she blinks

she strikes somebody blind.

Everything she thinks

blows her tiny mind.

That's my daughter in the water,

who'd have ever thought her?

Who'd have ever thought?

That's my daughter in the water,

I lost everytime I fought her

Yea, I lost every time.

Hi!

This is something that is very important to me to! I LOVE the dances with Dad and the first dances at weddings... so for mine it will be a BIG decision. I am NOT a fan of country music, but I think that the most important thing is that it means something to you and your dad.

The Billy Joel Lyrics are pretty good though!

Mummergirl - I just wanted to let you know my dad did the EXACT same thing to me. I'm not a fan of country but he wants Heartland's I loved her First and every time I hear it, I cry and I don't want to be sobbing the whole dance. But I'm gonna suck it up too - I'm thinking of trying to listen to the song every day to try and build up a tear tolerance! : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
