Airline Advice???

If the airfare is just a hundred bucks more, or so, then from your list I'd pay to go with...

British Airways

United

... but if it's much more, just take the cheaper flight and have more money to spend on good food and wine!

I've flown all the airlines you've spoken of - some are better than others, but it's really not a big enough to pay more than a hundred bucks, or so.

The best thing is to get a United flight and upgrade for economy plus, if you've got the money. WAY less money than first class and significantly more legroom.

Also, you're on your HONEYMOON!!! Drop that all over the place as you are getting your seats assigned (when you checkin your luggage). If you are really nice - and, ironically - don't push it too much (like you're trying to get them to upgrade you - if that makes sense) - there's a good chance you could get bumped up. Just ask the person behind the desk how their day is, tell them how excited you are, drop "husband" in there and act excited about finally being able to say that... it works a good amount of the time :)

Have a great trip! Italy is one of my favorite countries in the world!

It just seems that some are way more than other for the same flight times and everything. I've only traveled overseas once, and I haven't even seen that airline on any of my searches. So I was wondering if any of yall have used any of these airlines, and what yall thought about them. I've tried looking at reviews online, but they don't seem legit. Yalls feedback would be greatly appreciated! I just really don't want to be stuck on a terrible airline thats cramped and gross for 12 hours on our way to our honeymoon, kwim? And 1st class is out of the question, of course! TIA!!!

Air Canada
Air Berlin
Swiss
Eurofly
British Airways
United
I've never heard of Air Berlin or Eurofly, although I've been living in France and Switzerland for more than 30 years before moving to the US and travelled significantly (I'm an Elite traveller on two different airlines programs). I never flew Air Canada. I did Swiss (I used to live in Switzerland), BA and United. Of the three, BA is the best, Swiss comes second and United last. Depending on the city you transit through, you can also try Air France (awesome onboard service with good meals, free alcoholic drinks all flight long, open bar with sandwiches, ice creams and drinks between meals, free a-la-carte entertainment where you have the choice between dozens and dozens of movies, tons of shows, etc) or Lufthansa. DON'T fly Iberia (the Spanish company) or Alitalia (former Italian airlines, not sure they are still operating - they are horrible).

Thanks for the advice! I actually booked our fights 2 days ago, and we went with Continental, because it was cheaper and was a direct flight from NYC to Rome. Then we'll fly from Florence to Rome, have an hour 1/2 layover, then go straight from Rome back to NYC. Also, Stu's dad flies overseas all the time First Class on continental, and since they have the same name, we're hoping to get upgraded by that. Fingers crossed. I'm so freaking excited. One more thing done!
